Again, My Phone Number Is...

Sometimes scheduling a series of showings can be a real challenge.  Leaving messages for agents, sellers, and/or tenants and hoping for a call back in time to fit their listing into a showing schedule can be frustrating.  Today was one of those days for me, but it ended well.

I received a call this evening from the last of the sellers from whom I was awaiting the goahead to show tomorrow morning.  This seller was very accommodating and pleasant to talk with in arranging the time window that we are likely to fall into.

At the end of the call, the seller said, "by the way, thank you for repeating your name and phone number twice very clearly in your voice message.  No other agent has ever done that, and I am usually in a noisy environment where I often can't decipher names and numbers the first time, especially when they talk fast."

I always repeat my name and contact information at the end of voice messages, knowing how often I am irritated by having to re-listen to messages that have been left for me, because they are either spoken too quickly to hear and write simultaneously, and/or they are not clear.

In this case today, I have already made a favorable impression, on behalf of my client, with this seller.  If my client decides to make an offer on this particular property, we will start with a morsel of good rapport already established with the seller.  That never hurts, and often helps in negotiating.
