Margaret Gehr, who stages homes in the Chicago suburbs through her business Re-Arrange It Interiors, and her staff staged a home for The Associated Press' Homeownership Week series.

We worked with a first time seller in Plainfield, IL, Rosemary West of RE/MAX international, and the Associated Press. It was a blast transforming the space in just a few hours. It went from uninteresting and ordinary to memorable property with pizazz.

Different versions of the article and film have been released in many publications across the country. Here are a few:

HERE AT A FEW PICTURES:

Before: The room felt very small and it was hard to see how furniture might fit in. The all white walls made the carpet feel old and was hiding the nice white trim and fireplace.

After staging: The room felt much bigger and had loads of pizazz! The new soft color neutralized the wear on the carpet and turned the focus back the rooms best asset..the fireplace.

Very nice.  Staging can have a stunning impact when done well, as has been done here.

Hi Cathy - thanks I love those lamps to..we have several pairs.

Hi Elite, Your right a good photographer can make any room look better and is key in a good marketing package. In this case the staging, new paint, placement for photo styling, actually having lamps, and a better photographer made the difference. I love putting together rooms that don't disappoint when you get there. Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it.

Hi Maureen, The lime curtains were our inspiration. We didn't have long to pull it together so we had to use what we had on hand.

Margaret- congratulations for all of the press and I love!! the green you used.  It gives the space some "pop" yet isn't too much.

Margaret - what a great success story - all that publicity is great!  I absolutely love these staged rooms.  The new paint colour is perfect, and as you mentioned, the fireplace and moldings are now really visible.  Ok, my favourite part is the zebra chair - where would we be without a little animal print?!

thanks Michelle

Kathy - lime green is my favorite. Its hard to see but the art has vibrant blue and greens_ also brought that into the kitchen.

Debra - thank you

Sally - I don't interview well but who complaining...it was very nerve racking. I can see some words were twisted a little. I'm glad you like the zebra I'm always throwing in a little animal.

Another beautiful job, Margaret.  You've nailed the "scale" as it looks extremely balanced and so well put together.

Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures group.

Kathy - scale was key since what you see is the whole living space and I wanted it to look like you could add more. Thanks for the feature!

Birgit - thanks. I love the lime green too..with the black and white it kept it fresh and light.
