Once again, it's my Speechless Sunday post that is not speechless =P
I've had this one saved on my computer for a while. I so frequently see a picture that is like an analogy in itself, of so many other things. When I first saw this one it made me think of the real estate market. But this week, it's makiing me think Active Rain too! With all the server problems that our fearless leaders are so desperately trying to fix (read Bob's blog for updates), we're all feeling frustrated.. and AR feels a bit like a dried out river bed with no life in it right now. BUT, we all know the rain is coming soon, and when that happens, we should all be posting pictures of rivers, lakes, streams, rain, waterfalls, springs, and more!
Moral story to go with this post and picture =D
- When Noah built the ark, it had NEVER rained on the Earth before! Everyone thought Noah was crazy. They taunted him for building an ark in the middle of nowhere... he didn't even live near water! That's the kind of faith Noah had. Not only that, his heart was so right with God that he was able to hear the specific dimensions of every inch of the ark, both inside and out. And the animals just came to him in sets of 2 (this is not a prophecy. I'm not claiming any doubled-up animals coming to AR-HAHA!) and then he and his family got inside the ark, and GOD sealed the door! They were now stuck inside, and still no rain! And they waited, while the taunting from the people outside continued. (I hate to admit it, but if I were part of Noah's family, I'm afraid I might have started to complain at that time... stuck inside a sealed ark full of stinky animals, in the middle of nowhere, with none of something nobody had ever heard of before... RAIN... in sight!) And then... the rain started, and it started pouring, and all those people who said Noah was crazy started pounding on the door, begging to be let in. But remember, God had sealed the door. That's how faith works. You believe and act, BEFORE you see any evidence of what's been promised. Then you wait for the promise. And what happens is WAY beyond what you could have ever imagined!
OK so that probably doesn't have much to do with my picture of cracked mud, or with Active Rain's server problems, but hey, it's Sunday! lol And it's still a cool story, and a reminder to believe and obey, even when we don't see the evidence of why God wants us to do something ;-) (Understanding comes AFTER obedience!)
Hang it there through the tough times. It will rain again!
