Fishers' history begins in 1872 when Salathiel Fisher divided his land into town lots. The area was first called Fishers Station and Fishers Switch. The Fishers Train Station today houses the Fishers Chamber of Commerce and the Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
