Here's another installment in The Glamorous Job of a Realtor©.  This was just too good to pass up and I had to show you the latest decorating trends for the Kitchen.

Scroll slowly to savor the moment .....

home selling advice,staging advice,

The floor matches the cabinets which I will have to remember when I remodel in the future.  My eyes hurt a little bit while looking at the cabinets but I guess they will adjust after a few years.

home selling advice,staging advice,

Don't forget you saw this new decorating trend right here first!  Stand aside HGTV.

I would not want to step into that kitchen after having a couple of glasses of wine!

I can't believe that there was a point in time when two people got together and agreed that this would be a swell way to decorate the kitchen.

I think that this must have been Al Capone's old home.  No one has owned it since?

Lyn - What amazing creativity!  I'm sure that buyers will line up to purchase this marvel.  NOT!

Thank you for the title.  If I stumbled upon this blog without some kind of warning I think I'd have to have my lawyer send you a little letter......

I'm sure that there is a home makeover show that this should be submitted to for review.  Again, make sure warnings are in place.

Or maybe this house actually IS remodeled and what we see can be peeled away to show the beautiful 'after' effects?  Oh wait - the counter and stove are exposed so it actually IS a nightmare....

Lyn - Wow, I always wonder what inspires people to make decorating decisions like this.  Did someone wake up one day and say I think the cabinets would look really great if they matched the floor?

That makes my head spin!  Was this a real house that you came across or did you find this on the world wide web?  Ick!

Thanks everyone for the comments!  It really does make your eyes hurt to stare at it too long.  The floor BTW is the same black & white check pattern.  There was also a 'tasteful' black painted fireplace just steps away.

Lyn,

Didn't you see it in the paper?

That home is the location of the greater chicago checkers tournment.

You have to play from one side ofthe room to the other.

This is one of those posts with photos that I want to send to non-real estate friends with the message "and you think I make this stuff up?". Thanks for the giggle tonight.

Scott:  Why I didn't get the notice of the tournament but it makes perfect sense.  You can choose to play on the cabinets or on the floor.  It's so simple!

Andy:  After awhile your eyes just go wonkers looking at it.

Leslie:  That's why I started documenting this stuff.  People think that it's just stories you make up to talk sellers into staging their homes.  Things are out there that are just unbelievable.

Bill:  It made you downright dizzy.  Even made my camera pixels go buggy.

For some strange reason I want to play checkers. Or take up chess. And I'm not hungry.

J Philip:  I can understand about the checkers/chess feeling.  We should patent those as the newest weight loss sensation - dizziness & nausea from your kitchen cabinets.  No snacking for anybody, it's like being on a rolling ship at sea!

Lyn, stop the ride! I want to get off!!  I guess maybe this would be a good home for someone who wanted to lose a few kilos... How can you eat when the room is swaying so badly!  Thanks for sharing :)
