 Bridge collapsing video

As many of you have already heard, we have suffered 35W collapseloss here in Minnesota as a very busy highway bridge that spans the Mississippi river collapsed during rush hour. My daughter and I were just recently on that bridge on our way to shop at IKEA for some accessories for our booth at the county fair.   The 8 lane Interstate 35W bridge, a major Minneapolis artery, was in the midst of repair and two lanes in each direction were closed. It was fortunate that the traffic was bumper to bumper as there wasn't the additional speed of moving vehicles to add to the speed of the collapse.

People were already lining  last night up at the blood banks to donate and the Red Cross is very busy with  offers to help, donations,  and inquires into missing loved ones.  The death toll is expected to rise as they are able to get into the voids in the collapsed sections and as they pull more vehicles from the river.

Cover them in prayer, donate blood where you are living, and consider a donation.

Kathleen, we were shocked and horrified last night as we turned on the TV and saw pictures of the disaster.  We are all glad to hear you and your loved ones are safe, and want to extend our sincere sympathy for those less fortunate.  I will give blood today, apparently the supplies are down nationally.  Where would we send cash donations?

At this point, I only know of the Red Cross, but I am sure other funds will be set up for the victims families. The man in the booth across from me here at the fair left early last night.  His son is on the construction crew working on 35W and his friend was the one construction worker killed. I am the only one with internet here at the fair so last night we put it on and everyone gathered around to watch the latest news as the reports came in.
