I was checking out the schedule for the Magenta Theatre when I noticed they have a special series for First Fridays. I hope you'll be stopping by downtown anyways and while you're at it, take in one of the short (15 minute) presentations:
Friday, May 7 - 6:00pm-8:00pm
This Academy Showcase will present differing 10-minute shows comprised of performances by students in Magenta’s spring Academy session. Our Academy works to teach students the craft of acting – not how to be a show pony – while having a lot of fun. The students are working hard to craft challenging monologues and short scenes. People who are interested in how our theater is serving the young artists in our area, or who may know someone interested in theater, should not miss this event.
This is a free event and donations will be accepted, suggested donation of $5 per patron.
And then, starting in June:
Youth Series - June 4th Magenta Theater will continue to give opportunity to their young actors with the Artwalk One-Acts Youth Series. Four Different Performances - Four Different One-Acts - For Different Directors. Performances (a 10-15 minute presentation) are scheduled for 6/4, 7/2 and 11/5 during Artwalk - every 20 minutes between 6:00-8:30 PM. This is a free event and donations will be accepted, suggested donation of $5 per patron. Come see a great show and support the young actors in Vancouver.
