Following Up on Leads

Real Estate Agent with Benefield Realty

It is rare that a sale is made after just initial contact with a prospect, especially for any large ticket item or service such as real estate.  Customers buy on their schedule and it is the job of the agent to stay in touch with the prospect during the sales cycle.  Here are some ways to maintain contact throughout what can be a long sales process.

•1.       Make sure your message has value for the prospect and is not just intrusive.

•2.       Use the phone.  Be prepared for voicemail and always be polite.

•3.       Most people prefer to be contacted thru e-mail these days.

•4.       Use handwritten notes to really impress your clients.

Staying in touch with prospects and leads is critical.  Maintaining contact can be undertaken in many forms and will usually be more effective when consistent.  Developing a system that includes several of these ideas and following that system can make the process easier and more productive.

Dan, good common sense advice. It is easy to get side tracked but what you said works.
