This was a picture I took this morning of the nest that sits perched on my back porch. I returned home this evening to find three of the four eggs smashed on the deck. Nature is cruel.

Ellie, yes it is.  Look like robins eggs.  Pretty blue.

Hi Ellie... what a gorgeous photo!  Those eggs belong in a Tiffany's box!  :)

Ellie great shot, the blue eggs really make it stands out.  I can imagine how disappointed you were since you were probably looking forward to the baby birds.

OMG! Who destroyed them? Did the nest just fall or did someone destroy it all? I'd go looking for the mean people if that's the case!

That is sad. Do you ever notice if mama bird sits on them? If not, I'm not sure if those eggs will hatch or not. You took a great photo Ellie!

Ellie, nature can be cruel, but I guess ultimately it knows what's best.

Ellie - I'm pretty sure they were Robin eggs.  I wonder what smashed them???  You're right about nature.  Sometimes it's hard to take!
