Hi Nick, I've had the urge lately to move to the country.  I looked at a couple of properties this week but both needed too much work.  Seeing these photos makes me want to get out of the ratrace even more.

Hi Nick some wonderful looking sites and at prices that are just not seen around here. In our town of Prospect, a builders' acre is $150,000

Nick, around here one acre alone could run in that range.  I don't know about where you are but here land loans are tough to do because of the amount of downpayment that is needed;

Since land is a finite commodity owning some, especially land you can build on, is a pretty safe investment.

Jonathan-will do.

Jenny-if you look across the lake you'll see a blue green paddle boat...directly above that is my house in Illinois...do you think that's far enough from the rat race for you?

Hidden Lake

Dan-you got that right...Will Rogers wasn't it?

Bob & Carolin-thank you.

Ed-well, this is considered out in the country.

Debi-thanks, I'm working on it.

George-most of the land sales that I've been involved with or know about have been cash.

Craig-I agree except the problem with out in the country you may never know who will want to build a chicken farm next to you.  Many counties have ordinances against pig and chicken farms mostly because of the smell...no problem here though.

Diane-there is still some standing water in the cotton or bean fields.  Nashville, only an hour and a half north of me really got socked.  When I drive up to Chicago I take I-65 to I-24 (out of Nashville) over to I-57 up to Chicago.  I-24 was under water just a short while ago.  It's ok now.

Robert-our Bangkok connection...thanks for the kind words and thank you for the feature.

Al & Peggy-with all those choices of lakes to visit in your area, I would imagine it's a very popular place.

Catina-thank you for stopping by to comment.  I also imagine that land in your area is quite expensive.

Nick can rats swim?  Just kidding.  The land looks like a very nice track to own. I would be putting a home back in the woods there and getting some cows to graze on it.  Horses would be too much work.

Big range in the prices on the land.  Kind of like that here too.  Nice spot for your house!

Robert-it's a small community of 50 homes and we're surrounded by cows, corn, and horse farms...can life get any better?  Don't be jealous until it's paid for!!!

Diane-all that is pretty much behind us now...I know you have relatives down this way so when I tell you that it's getting hot and humid especially for a Chicago boy, you know what I mean.

June-"rats"...hey I resemble that!!!  The land is nice, but some of the land you post in NC is absolutely gorgeous!

Debra-I guess it's like that everywhere.  Get closer in to the city or more established areas with city sewer and water and other city services the asking price is much higher.
