Sometimes people who email you with questions can prompt ideas for a blog post. That's what happened today. I got an email asking about our local high speed internet service providers in the area. Leads me to tell a quick story...
Back in the day... when Georgia only had two area codes for the entire state (which was until the early 90's). The first two area codes were 404 and 912. 404 covered the northern part of the state and 912 covered the lower part of the state. With the influx of pagers and cell phones of course we now have lots more... 404, 706, 770, 678, 479, 912 and 229. BUT, even when Georgia only had two area codes, Putnam County had both. That's right, instead of put the line round our county the put the cut off at a rail road crossing on Twin Bridges Road. Part of us had Ma Bell and part of the folks on Lake Sinclair had GTE. Why be normal?
Today we still have two phone companies, multiple cable companies, and of course satelite companies that provide phone, television and high speed internet. Without having a specific address I really couldn't answer the question of the person who emailed me.
But... if you have an address I can guide you to which of the following choices for phone, television and high speed internet services that you need to call.
