Houses do Speak to You!

By
Real Estate Agent with R.W. Price and Associates

I have been reading the other posts...I like the one about falling in love. That's so true.  But, before someone falls in love the house has to speak to the buyer.  Many of my buyers would comment to me "Sorry it's taking so long to find IT".  My reply has always been "Your home will speak to you and tell you it's yours" I have gotten many a strange look (mostly from the men).  And then....funniest thing happens....you open THE door, and....house says"Your Home!!"  Eyeballs start rolling, grins start forming, alot of times she will ball her fists. She's falling in love and the house is saying "Come on, I've been waiting for YOU!!"  When we're signing paperwork he chuckles and says"Yep, you are right Cori, houses really do talk to you"  I love it when I'm right!!

Cori, how true it is. Sometimes I think the house actually screams and not just talks to you. Actually, thinking about it, all houses talk, some just don't say nice things...

Yes, in so many words the house will say that it is their HOME not house.

Yes, I agree!  They definitly do speak to you!  And, once you really get to know your Buyers, the house even speaks to the realtor!  You can tell when you walk in the door "ah, their not going to like this one as much" or "they're really going to like this one."  I just posted a blog about Finding the perfect home and how sometimes even when you do find it that in this market sometimes buyers don't realize it because there are so many houses on the market...even when the house speaks to them...they maybe are still waiting for a house to speak even louder to them???

I especially like the ones that Scream  "BUY ME NOW" and the sale goes thru

Stephen,

somewhere I just saw a post about leaving the toilet seats up....those must be the "Bad Mouth" houses your speaking of!!  He!He!He!

It was a very strong message about making sure seats are closed for showings AND pictures.  We as Realtors cannot always control a showing....however, if we're taking the pictures we do have control there.

Anyway..

You have to like it when a Buyer walls through the front door and goes, OK we are done.  I has happened to me several times.  Every time seems to surprise me.
