Where is Port Orange Florida? Where is Daytona Beach? Information by REALTOR®, Lisa Hill.

Where is Daytona Beach, compared to other cities in Florida? How many miles are between certain cities? Where is Port Orange, in relation to Daytona Beach?

These are just a few of the questions I frequently find on my blog posts. So when someone asks me how far we are from another city in Florida, I jump over to my home page which happens to be iGoogle, and click the "Maps" button at the top of the page. I then type in the other city so I can see exactly where that city is, in Florida.

Sometimes the questions are vague... last week I just had to tell someone the city they asked about was on the gulf coast, while Daytona Beach is on the east coast; and I also explained that the city of which they were inquiring was slightly south-west of us. And other times someone will ask a specific question. For example, on my post about our Short Sale condo listing in a luxury Port Orange community, I have a location question that was more specific where Sheryl Hartley asked "How far is Daytona to Port St. Lucie Florida? I have been looking around in that area for a condo for the winter. Just wondered about the difference in miles."

So once again, I went to my home page, then to Google maps and typed in the other city, in this case Port St. Lucie. Then, in order to fully answer Sheryl's question about the actual miles between the cities, I clicked the Google maps button to Get Directions, and added Port Orange as the "from" location. Now at this point, if you've received an inquiry by e-mail, you can just paste the URL into an e-mail message and send it to the person who's inquiring about your location. But since we're all here on Active Rain, I decided to take q quick screen shot, (picture of the web page) which I could have posted in my comment, but decided to use as a blog post instead. This is one of the great things about Active Rain; sharing our knowledge so we can help each other =)

So here are the results of my Google map search, Directions, and the screen shot of the acquired map, taken by a freeware product called MWSnap3 (There are many products like this on the market. But I always search for "freeware" products first). (Follow the preceding link to download MWSnap3.)

Distance between Port Orange and Port St Lucie FL

And there you have it. The screen shot of the map I got, when it Got Directions from Port Orange Florida to Port St. Lucie Florida. But how many miles is it? Well, the exact driving directions and mileage are on the Google map screen to the left side of this screen shot.

Here is the link with the driving directions and mileage, showing every street, and turn-by-turn directions from Port Orange., And below, is another screen shot showing just the mileage, main driving road, and approximate driving time between the 2 citites. To be specific, you take I-95 south for 143 miles on a trip that takes approximately 2 hours, 27 minutes.

Distance betweeen Port Orange and Port St Lucie FL

  • FYI: When I open MWSnap3 to take a screen shot on my computer, I open it, then go to the web page, or spot on my computer that I want for a screen shot, THEN I click the MWSnap3 button that's a picture of a rectangle, and click immediately back to my desired location before using my mouse to enclose the space I'm capturing. Otherwise, I end up with a picture of my desktop >.<  lol

Have fun. I hope this helps someone with their business. Now you can help your real estate customers find you, your office, a different city, or compare locations.

Feel free to comment if you have another tool you use for screen shots. =)

Well, my FL geography is bad and I would have asked that question. I'm glad you pointed it out. Now I know where some of my AR friends are....

Lisa Hill in Daytona Beach,

Katerina & Nestor near Pt. Lucie and

TLW & BB near Kissimmee.

That's kinda cool.

Lisa - I often get questions about mileage, although more commonly here in CA the question is "how long does it take to get..."  That, of course, can be a tough one depending on traffic. There are often 2 answers - with traffic, and without. The diffs can be significant.

Good info...and Rockledge/Viera is exactly half between these two cities. BTW, I see this new shopping area off I-95 in Port Orange..looks like a lot of nice shopping!

Barbara- I hadn't thought of the Google juice. Yay! =D  lol

Loreena- We're all waving at you. Can you see us if you zoom in really close?  =P

Jeff- Honestly, Floridians explain everything in time. I'm usually stumped if someone asks me a miles question. But if you look at the top right corner of the map, where I cut it off, there's a Traffic button too, so you can plan your trip accordingly =)

Gary- The Pavilion is unbelievable! I was shocked when I first saw it. It still amazes me. I posted a photo blog from there a couple of weeks ago =)

My last trip to south Florida was to Boca Grande in 2004 for my nephews wedding.......I would love to go back there or visit the Atlantic coast again.  It's been a real long time since I've been to Daytone.  I think I was 12.....

I haven't been to that part of Florida, but remember highway 75 (Aligator Alley) between Sarasota across the state to the Keys!  I never saw so many aligators in one spot in my entire life:-)

When I visited my husband in 1994 when he was working in Tampa, we started to drive I-4 to Daytona Beach but got interrupted by really bad weather that we didn't want to drive in.

Back in 1994 when I worked in Tampa, we were building out the cell sites from Tampa to Orlando. I always had it on my list to take off one Saturday and drive to and from, but I never got to do that.
