That's right! Starting April 30th, you can purchase stamps at the Post Office and part of the money will go to feed pets at area shelters.

The Stamps to the Rescue campaign is trying to bring awareness to the need to adopt shelter animals. The pictures on the stamps were taken by photographer Sally Andersen-Bruce in New Milford, Connecticut. Follow the picture to their website and you can not only pre-order the stamps on line, but you can read the stories of each animal as you hover your mouse over each animal's photo!

Stamps to the Rescue

Buddy, the Golden Retriever, and Jake, the Boston Terrier, were both purchased at pet stores and then later turned over to the shelter. All of these animals have been adopted but trust me, there are MANY more that need good homes.

The Stamps to the Rescue program is hoping to raise awareness of the need to adopt these wonderful animals living in our local shelters throughout the country. Make a difference, adopt an animal or just purchase the stamps!

Actually, unless you have a Postal Store in your community, you'll find that the pet stamps are only available online. I went to all five of post offices near me and all said the same thing. I even got the same answer from the Postal Store in Mission Valley, and they were out of them.
