The Summer Science Academy at Peralta Trail Elementary School has been reported by the local media to have been a great success. On a recent day students were doing experiments with magnets, while others were measuring liquids into test tubes and still another group were engrossed in a math project that they were actually having fun participating in. This was the first year of the "hands on" summer science and math program and according to Peralta Trails Elementary School Principal, Larry LaPrise the program caused a lot of excitement among both students, parents and teachers. There was even a waiting list to get into the program. The program is an inspiration to other schools who are working hard to encourage students to become more involved in math and science.
