Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Saturday May 8
Today is the day! Remember to participate. When we all work together, results exceed everyones' expectations.
Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is always held the day before Mother's Day; I find it is an ideal time for a quick Spring Cleaning in the pantry.
So if your letter carrier has not been by yet, grab a few bags, fill the bags up with any nonperishable food items that you no longer want or need.
YAY! A tidier cupboard!
On Saturday, May 8th, letter carriers in more than 10,000 communities will collect food items and deliver them to local food banks to help some of the millions of Americans, including an estimated 16.7 million children*, who face hunger every day.
Since 1993, families have donated nearly 1 billion pounds of food to Stamp Out Hunger. You can help make this year our most successful ever.
Simply place bags filled with nonperishable food items like canned meats, fish, soup, juice and vegetables, and pasta, cereal and rice next to your mailbox on Saturday, May 8th.* Your letter carrier will pick up the bags and deliver them to your local food bank.
