Meeting Frances Flynn Thorsen (my winning mentor!) was a huge highlight of Project Blogger

It was sooo cool to finally meet Frances Flynn Thorsen ("Fran"), who'd been mentoring me (Mary Pope-Handy) in Project Blogger for weeks and weeks.

Paul Chaney and David G (from Zillow) at Bloggers and Beer

Paul Chaney (mentor to Ines Hegedus-Garcia) and David G from Zillow at The Thirsty Bear in SF.

Chad Huck and Mario Pinedo

Chad Huck from C21 Hecht Realty in Mooresville, North Carolina and Mario Pinedo of Intero Real Estate Services (same company where I hang my license!) in Cupertino.

Michelle Leonard (Long & Foster in Philly area) and her mom, who also works in the RE biz with Michelle

Mingling isn't this blogger's strongest suit, but at Beer and Bloggers (or was it Bloggers and Beer?) it was "close knit" and I did meet a lot of very wonderful folks, including this daughter-mom team (Michelle Leonard and her mother, who are affiliated with Long and Foster in the Philadelphia area).

Tisza Major-Posner and Jeff Turner

Bloggers at the Thirsty Bear: Tisza Major-Posner and Jeff Turner do some catching up.

Don McCormack and... someone help me out!

Don McCormack (whose McCormack's Guides in California I purchase by the dozen) and another blogger...uh, whose name I'm forgetting... at the beer and bloggers event....

Drew Meyers, a PB coach, from Zillow

The very nice Drew Meyers from Zillow, who was a coach in Project Blogger.  Unfortunately the Thirsty Bear was enormously crowded (packed!) and I am not sure anyone could hear him over the roar of the crowd.

Tisza Major-Posner and Joe Ferrara

Joe Ferrara of Sellsius snaps a pic of Ardell DellaLoggia in the Sellsius Blog Mobile while Tisza Major-Posner looks on.

Laurie Manny, Kevin Tomlinson, Tisza Major-Posner

Laurie Manny, Kevin Tomlinson, Tisza Major-Posner outside of the Thirsty Bear. "Where do you wanna go for dinner?" "I dunno, what do you feel like?"  "What's nearby??"

Group pic: Kim, Ardell, Kevin, Tisza, Caleb, and Laurie

Enough with the beer... let's go get some dinner!!  Seen above are Kim Harris, Ardell Della Loggia, Kevin Tomlinson, Tisza Major-Posner, Caleb Mardini and Laurie Manny.

Next post (tomorrow or whenever I catch my breath): Bloggers Connect

Cyndee thanks so much!  It was a lot of fun to meet the friends I'd known online for so long, and also to meet so many folks whose work I've admired forever too. Really, really cool :)

Wow...what a cool function...I wish I had been invited. I haven't been with active rain long enough to know people and events and project blogger or meme or any of that stuff...hopefully I'll catch on soon and be one of the guys/gals...  =)

Rondel it wasn't by invitation - this event was sponsored by Inman News as part of Inman Connect. This year was the first one that had a day on blogging, Bloggers Connect. Go next year!  It was $99 for the day and well worth it!!

Very nice to see more of those we reading so much of here. Great to see the photos. We should of come. The good news is we had a significant Buyer for 3 days and put that together. And since being on AR, and as active as possible for a few months, we're getting at least one "up call" a day from our blogs now. Thanks again for sharing this with the rest of us.

Congratulations on your win, Mary, It was such fun to witness you getting the prize along with Frances. Sorry our paths did not cross. Thanks for the visual. Any plans to talk about your Project Blogger journey? We didn't get to hear much from you about that. :(

Thanks for sharing the great photos - what a terrific collection of blogging celebrities!

Jan - You are so right - it was crowded but fun. Can't wait for next year and hope it'll also be in SF.

Ashley - Glad you enjoyed the pics! Thanks for the congrats on winning PB!

Jennifer - Thanks for the well-wishes :)  It was worth it (and no slam dunk, the other apprentices and teams all worked very hard and have gorgeous blogs to show for it)

Maureen - Thanks so much for the nice words but also for ALL of the encouragement and sideline help that you gave to all of us in recent weeks. You are a star!

Gary - That is awesome and I'm hoping to follow in your tracks with the leads. I love seeing pics of others. My biggest challenge now is names - I have some great pics and find myself saying, "oh no, is there a biz card with this face on it somewhere???"

KK - Glad we could have you be a part of it via pics!  Thanks for the good wishes :)

Jeff - Thanks. I'd have loved to meet you too - maybe next AR event?? One of the things that some judges penalized us for was "blogging about blogging". I occassionally did a recap of this or that week. I wasn't sure anyone would want something in retrospect about the journey but I will give it some thought thanks to you. I don't want to bore people with it but if you think folks would want to hear more, perhaps I can do it in a concise enough way as to not lose people....  Thanks for asking. I'll probably do it since you asked!

Carole - you are right!  Next time I hope you'll be there in person too!!

Jeff - you are wayyy kind. It is always good seeing you and I'm hoping to see your fantastic apprentice, Julie Ferenzi, next week when I'm in Chicago (family wedding and checking out colleges, our major pasttime these days). Thanks for being such an upbeat and vocal part of Active Rain. You are a real inspiration as I don't think you've ever said a negative word here (the same can't be said of me but I'm trying....) Thank you again!!!!!!!!!

Mary - Congratulations! It was so nice to meet you and the other Apprentices and the other bloggers. As you know, I went to Los Gatos twice because of your blogs, and found it a most delightful town. Hope we'll have some one-on-one time in the future.

Sharon you are SO sweet. I was absolutely delighted to meet you at Bloggers Connect and if you are in the area again, please let me know and I'll give you the stone-by-stone tour of Los Gatos, from the funstuff to the history to the ghosts of Los Gatos!!

I do hope to see you again and maybe next time we can enjoy lunch together. (Are you going to Sellabration in January in Hawaii???)

With warm regards from Silicon Valley,

Mary Pope-Handy
