NAR and CRS Meetings in Washington, DC - May 10 - 16, 2010

I'm heading off tomorrow morning early out of LAX for the NAR and CRS Meetings in Washington, DC beginning Monday May 10.

Council of Residential Specialists

Anyone else heading that way for part or all of the week?

If you are, let me know. I would love to meet up with as many AR folks as I can, given the time constraints.

I'll be attending the midyear NAR meetings for the first time, as part of my role as President-Elect for the Southern California Chapter of CRS (Certified Residential Specialists), through Wednesday. The CRS meetings start on Thursday and run through Sunday.

I have a family engagement (daughter's graduation from USC) to attend back in LA Friday morning so I am leaving DC on a late night flight on Thursday to get home in time. And then, of course, Saturday May 15^th in LA is the famous ActiveRain RainCamp where I hope to hook up with a bunch of old friends (some of the almost-100 I've met in real life and those who until then have just been on-line friends). And certainly there will be some top-notch learning before I head home to Carlsbad Saturday night.

In the midst of all this I have a home that will close on or before that Friday (first time buyers who just had a baby a week ago), another listing that just went into escrow a few days ago, and I am expecting a short sale approval any day (yeah, heard that one before, but the agent reassured me). Plus there are several very active buyers. Thank goodness for technology.

ACTIVERAIN MEET-UP (1st of possibly 2) - Monday 5/10 around noon (somewhat open to time) at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road NW, Washington, DC in the lobby

Hi Jeff, Have a great trip. The DC meetings are amazing and so is the technology expo there. I know you will have a great time and if anything it can be a bit overwhelming the first time. The receptions at the Capital are the best.

Jeff - I was planning to attend NAR Mid-Year (as I think we discussed on the phone a few months ago), but I ended up deciding not to go. I simply have too much going on here to break free right now. We had planned another family road trip, but I'm happy that we aren't travelling now, since I ended up getting pretty sick this past week. :)

Margaret - it was SUCH fun to meet you finally. I enjoyed our talk immensely. Thank you, thank you for making the trek from Baltimore.

Lloyd - thanks. It has been a great ride so far and I look forward to next year as President.

Kay - yep, pretty busy, but good stuff, too.

Lee and Pamela - I am looking forward to it. Today was just meeting up with some AR friends and a great dinner conversation with the President of our Chapter. The graduation will be exciting, too. It has been a long 2 years for her. Yet is has flown by in some ways.

Jason - some other time, perhaps. Will you be at NAR in New Orleans? Hope you are feeling better soon.

Pat - SOOOO fun to neet you. Hopefully we will have a good turnout for tomorrow nite, whatever it happens to be.
