Lake Norman Wine and Food Festival - June 5-6 Kenton Place, Cornelius NC

The Lake Norman Wine and Food Festival, scheduled for June 5-6 at Kenton Place in Cornelius, has released a list of wineries that have made early commitments to participate in the event. Wineries from Iredell and the Yadkin Valley wine-growing regions participating are Allison Oaks Vineyards, Davesté Vineyards, Dobbins Creek Vineyards, Round Peak Vineyards, Shadow Springs Vineyard and Shelton Vineyards.
   Here is what festival director V. Tom Gardner had to say recently: "We are fortunate to have a varied and distinctive group of talented local wineries from Iredell and the Yakin Valley joining our festival. In working to put together the festival, I had a chance to visit each of these wineries, and it was an experience that gave me a taste of just how much North Carolina wineries have to offer. I am excited to be able to share that experience with the residents of Lake Norman."

   In addition to wine tastings, the Lake Norman Wine and Food Festival will feature area restaurants and vendors.  The event will include a number of distinct areas including the Main Tent with wine lectures and cooking demonstrations, the Wine Reservoir with wine tastings from local wineries, the Restaurant Galley featuring small dishes from local restaurants, and a merchants area for regional vendors and boutique offerings.
   The Lake Norman Wine and Food Festival was founded to benefit local charities in need and has filed for its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The festival will be donating proceeds to Angels & Sparrows Soup Kitchen of Huntersville, Hope House of Huntersville and the Mooresville Soup Kitchen.
