Beaufort, SC Cited As Southern Dream Town

Another nice little pat on the back for our wonderful little town, Beaufort, SC. Garden & Gun Magazine cited Beaufort as a "Southern Dream Town" in the April/May issue of Garden & Gun Magazine. In fact, Beaufort was the lead Southern Dream Town. If you have trouble putting your hands on a hard copy of the mag, you might try Googling the article. I managed to find it in a couple of places. The short piece told Beaufort residents nothing we don't already know, that Beaufort is a fabulous place to live with terrific amenities at every turn. If you are not familiar with Beaufort and have been pondering about a visit but haven't made any plans, the article might get you over the hump. "It's hard to imagine anyone exhausting the cultural and sporting options in Beaufort and the outlying Sea Islands," raves Mike Grudowski and Donovan Webster, writers of the "Southern Dreamtowns 2010" piece. No argument here. The piece also touches on the wonderful festivals hosted in Beaufort -- the Water Festival, Shrimp Festival, Gullah Festival, and International Film Festival, among others. "The arts scene keeps things from getting too quiet, with upwards of a dozen galleries downtown alone....and a brimming calendar at the University of South Carolina at Beaufort's Performing Arts Center. If you are unfamiliar with the magazine, as I was a few days ago, don't be fooled by the title. The magazine is much more garden than gun.
