Las Vegas is often viewed as the adult disneyland, a true 24 hour town. After all, our city's advertising slogan is "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." Las Vegas is more than just neon lights. What isn't advertised are the wonderful family communities, beautiful desert scenery and the booming job market. Everyone knows about the opportunities for entertainment on the Las Vegas strip, but the rest of the city has a lot to offer as well. There
are several large shopping malls with minutes of virtually every part of the city. If you are a nature lover, Las Vegas has dozens of beautiful parks and the Red Rock conservation area is about a fifteen minute drive. Las Vegas is about a thirty-five minute drive from Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. The newly developed art district in downtown Las Vegas has a new promenade connecting it to the new world market and outlet mall, with newly developed work/live buildings under construction. If you prefer more cultured entertainment, take in a broadway show at any one of the strip venues or see a live performance at the performing arts center in the master planned community of Summerlin. Tour one of the many museums or attend concert, Las Vegas has it all.
Just because Las Vegas is located in the desert doesn't mean you would have to miss out on your favorite winter activities. Mount Charleston is a short hour drive from the city and offers excellent skiing and snowboarding. With some many things to do and see, its no wonder Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world. -Charles
