I have a wonderful library of books - I still love them very much. There's always been something cozy and peaceful about putting on my glasses and holding a book in my hands, turning pages by a lamp at night.
But then Nook came into my life; I never thought I would ever be seduced by this sleek device. And, then there it was dressed in a leather jacket, being shown off at Barnes and Noble - pretending to be a real book. I played coy, but the attraction was immediate.
Who could resist its color touchscreen and ability to store 1,500 books, newspapers, and magazines? And, then I held it. I lightly touched 'shop' and found 1,000,000 titles to choose from. I could sample any book before purchasing - and yes, the books were cheaper than those I bought with my membership card. "One thing," the rep said, "There is no backlight, so you will need to sit by a lamp at night."
I sighed and said to myself, "I think I'm in love."
And, so Sunday night, I put on my glasses, turned on my nightstand lamp and cozied up in bed with my Nook. I downloaded a new release novel, chose my font, and started to read. And, when I became sleepy, I touched Bookmark and closed Nook for the night.
This is the cover I chose...with a personalized picture on the cover (bright blue so it's easy to find).
