I recently had a local Pest Control company stop by and talk to me about a new product for Weed killing that won't kill everything in a 5 mile radius. It is a product caled "Dead-Eye" http://www.deadeye.us/  . it is a Vinegar base product that kills very quickly and leaves no residue or soil contaminant.

What was refreshing about the vist from Ray of Pauls Pest Control in Wildwood NJ was that they went out their way to show me what they were offering . Ray said he read an article in our local paper about my EcoBroker certification and thought I would be interested in the product. In our area alot of seasonal and shore homes have stone yards so Weed control is a big business.

I am in the process of building a website called the Green Realty Circle which will highlight local companies that offer Green resources as well as energy efficient building practices.

I want to thank Ray and the guys from Pauls Pest Control in Wildwood NJ for being on the forefront of a changing conscious and market.

Great information David.

For those interested, we have GREAT "green" resourse out here in Mpls, MN.

It's called the Do It Green! Magazine.  And the web site is www.doitgreen.org

Simply a great little annual magazine and very much worth checking out.

David: I love products like this. I saw a vinegar based weed killer you could mix yourself using household solutions, but lost the recipe. Thanks for the tip.   Fran

Thanks David, this is a great idea (the website I mean). Might be a good site of several local markets. The vinegar might keep the deer away too! I could only hope, deer are a bigger problem than weeds in our area.

WOW Dave that is way cool.  I know I've heard of that before.  I'd check it out but here in Florida, unless you have a water guzzling St. Augustine lawn, weeds are what comprise most of our yards.  If I sprayed, I'd only have dirt left :-)

I have seen this product before and tried it out.  The acid works pretty well.  It is stronger than household vinegar.  A person using it should be careful where it is used because it will tend to change the PH of the soil to a more acid condition.  Thanks for bringing this product to people's attention.

Dear David,

Thanks for the great 'green' information. I will have to pick this up for my problem areas in the yard. Thanks!
