How do you see yourself and what you do?

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more   Do you see a Wheeler Dealer buying and selling no time to stop....gotta make the numbers? Or do you envision an Exclusive Agent working with only the "Best" of Clients in the "Best" of Neighborhoods? How about as the Commercial King/Queen dealing with the Big Players or the Tecno-genius who really knows how to reach out to the Internet Savvy crowd-do any of these fit you?

We all are trying to find our niche'. That place where we best fit and that best fits us. And for your profession to work for you...that's exactly what you need to do!

But there should be more...By defining who you are and what you do with a narrow focus you are not only cheating yourself...you are cheating your Community! Come on...you know...you have so much more to offer!

We Blog so potential customers can get a feel for who we are and what we know...how good a "fit" we would be. Contributing to your Community does more for your Image than any Advertising, Blogging, CommercialMailing or Web Page could ever do! People get to know you. Go get 'em girl!  Love this post.  So many people sit on the sidelines thinking that's for other people.  There are so many places to serve our communities, boards, and chambers of commerce.

Hmmmm - What do I do???  Let me think a minute...

I serve - as a Director for Ohio Assn. of Realtors, a committee member on Realtors Political Action and Enlarged Legislative (those are at the state level).  I serve - as a Director for Toledo Board of Realtors, Vice Chair - Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee, member - RPAC, member - Affordable Housing and Cultural Diversity.

I serve - as a board member for North River Weed & Seed, a Law Enforcement Committee member, and as a member of the Weed & Seed Steering Committee.

I volunteer with local candidates on their campaigns for all types of offices - City Council, School Board, Mayor's race, etc.

And in my free time I try to help a friend get her business on track so she stays solvent and hubby and I rehab properties.

In between all that I take care of my clients - and I believe I do it very well.

Did that answer your question???  LOL

You asked a loaded question on this one, Joan!  :)

Joan, good question.  I know here The Long Island Board of Realtors are involved with many charities as a group effort for places like The Ronald McDonald house and more.  I contribute a free consultation when I can.  I also last year tackled a large community service project and can, when possible, help non profit agencies.  On my "free" time :)  It is a wonderful feeling to contribute!

I am to volunteer friendly -- this year has been no exception -- so let's see outside of RE -- Nashua Mediation - mediating family disputes and divorce --  also involved with New England Pet Partners -- a great organization, bringing pets to help elderly, and kids who have reading challenges!  I won't bore you with all the real estate stuff unless you really want to know.

Joan...  I loved Marlene's comment and in all honesty, I have had those thoughts sometimes when I was busy, young, and thinking of myself.   Great reminder here.......

Jeff it is obvious by what you write and the way you write it that you are people oriented(and a bit sensitive too if I had to guess). I'd be willing to bet you are very active in your community!

Thanks for stopping by! It's nice to see you.

lol... yes, I am a sensitive person. It's just that large heart of mine. But in regards to being active in my community, not as much as I should. And I have been in this town for a little over 3 years now.

LOL... well, I can organize keg parties and ski trips.....   I am a social organizer... lol   I did lead a youth group retreat for freshman and sophmore's when I was a Junior in HS....  I have done other things... but lately, nothing. I have been trying to juggle my life and the changes that have taken place in the last 8 months.... selfish?  Partially...maybe... but I need to think of me in order to give back, so I am complete and not distracted. Just my opinion and outlook.

Great reminder, Joan- there are any number of organizations here that would welcome the help.  Rather than moan about the quiet winters here, I'm going to find something really interesting to participate in.  I'll let you know what I decide on! :)
