Summer Camps in Reno

In a month, most schools in the Washoe County School District will officially begin summer break.  If you are looking for something for your child to enjoy during their summer vacation, you may want to consider one of these summer camps in Reno:

Summer of Fun Travel Club - For kids ages 6-14.  This camp includes tons of field trips to bowl, swim and skate as well as physical activities to keep kids busy.  There are three locations to choose from: Bilinghurst Middle School (6685 Chesterfield Lane, Reno, NV, starts June 14, ends August 6), Plumas Gym (575 Monroe Street, Reno, NV, starts June 14, ends August 27) and Neil Road Recreation Center (3925 Neil Road, Reno, NV, starts June 14, ends August 27).  Cost is $100 per week.

Summer Discovery Teams - For kids ages 6-14.  Sports, swimming, field trips and lots of fun are the goals of this summer camp.  There are two locations to choose from: Desert Heights Elementary School (13948 Mount Bismark St, Reno, NV) and Sierra Vista Elementary School (2001 Soaring Eagle Dr, Reno, NV).  Both camps start on June 14 and end August 6.  Cost is $100 per week.

Performing Arts Specialty Camp - For kids ages 8-14.  In this 3 week long camp, kids get to learn about everything involved in putting on a production, including singing, dancing, lights, music and even directing.  This camp will be held at the Southside Cultural Center (190 E Liberty St, Reno, NV).  Cost is $130 per week.

Summer Camps in Reno

Outdoor Wilderness Camp - For kids ages 8-14.  Kids will learn survival skills and more about the great outdoors.  There will even be an overnight camp on Thursday evening of the week you choose at Sky Tavern on Mt. Rose.  The camp will be held at the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center (1301 Valley Rd, Reno, NV) the week of July 26-30 and August 9-13.  Cost is $130 per week.

Too Cool for Camp - For kids ages 13-15.  This camp teaches kids how to lead camp programs, coordinate schedules and plan games and activities so that they can go on to help other Reno summer camps as a junior counselor.  This program takes place June 14-18 at the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center (1301 Valley Rd, Reno, NV) and costs $100.

Vacation Station - For kids ages 6-14.  This year-round day camp continues throughout summer at the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center (1301 Valley Rd, Reno, NV).  Cost is $95 per week until 6/30 and $100 per week starting July 1.  Vacation Station takes kids on field trips, swimming, rollerskating, bowling and much, much more.

The hours for any of the summer camps is 7am-6pm, Monday through Friday.  There are financial scholarships available to help pay for any one of the summer camps in Reno.  Registration for these Reno summer camps is now open.  Since many of these camps fill up quickly, you will want to get your reservation in early.  Call Kevin at 775-334-2262 for more info and to reserve a spot for your child.

Great selection of activities for the kids for the summer. I guess the difficult part is deciding which one to choose.
