Back in March I wrote a blog post posing the question, "Do you know your neighbors, I mean REALLY know your neighbors?"  It featured a website, Felonspy.com that will pinpoint on your neighborhood map the location of convicted felons.  What a great idea for us all to be armed with that information. 

I got a few comments at the time that made me wonder about the legitimacy of the site, but being busy I never did make the time to look into it and then it was old news.  After receiving a new comment today questioning the site, I did a little research.  In the time I had available I wasn't able to determine definitively if the site is a hoax, but I am going to say common sense dictates that it just can't be for real.

As my commenter said, checking out their disclaimer certainly leads one to believe that they are not to be taken seriously.

This may be good news to those of you who found many felons living in your neighborhoods.  Perhaps there are, but not necessarily.  In any event, FelonSpy does not appear to be a reliable source of that important information.  Please check with your local law enforcement agencies to learn what you can about the criminals living amongst us.  Be careful out there!
