I CAN DO THAT I CAN DO THAT I CAN DO THAT I CAN DO THAT ALSO

JACK OF ALL TRADESI was talking with a General Contractor the other day about installing kitchen cabinets at my house. We were talking for about ten minutes. Then, he asked me what I did for a living. I informed him that I am a licensed Arizona real estate agent. I specialize in assisting real estate investors to Fix and Flip homes, purchase homes at wholesale prices and aid in building real estate portfolios at below market prices. Furthermore, I explained to him that I have developed the Real Estate and Beyond Team as a one stop shop for investing in real estate by surrounding myself with professionals experts in their own fields. It makes every transaction smoother.

BURNING MIDNIGHT OILHe was shocked and curious at the same time at the other end of the line. He explained to me that he works with real estate investors. So, he has been acting as the real estate agent and general contractor at the same time. I sensed that he was beginning to burn out. There are only so many hours in the day. Real estate is a team sport. We cannot do this game on our own at this time. There are too many moving parts to keep track of on a daily basis. He said he could not find a real estate agent to do the hard work. I informed him that I assist real estate investors to purchase at the Arizona Trustee Sales on a daily basis. Again, he was shocked. He wanted to meet up with me that day. So, we are meeting this Friday to discuss me doing the real estate part and he does the general contract part. Plus, he can tap into my existing Real Estate and Beyond Network of Professionals. Why recreate the wheel?

Are you doing everything on your own? Are you truly mastering your own craft? I would encourage everyone to develop their own network of professionals. Stick with your trade and learn everything about it to become the true master in your local area. I love real estate. I just do real estate.

Great advice it does pay for all of us Realtors, Lenders, etc to create a team that we can depend upon to get the job completed.

Generally, I think that folks who are a "jack of all trades" are really doing themselves a disservice. You spread yourself way too thin.

Networking is vital in the real estate industry.  And as you have proven here, it's important to network with all different aspects of our industry. Not just other realtors.  Great job!

Jack of all trades and master of none is what that sounds like. I agree. You can be good at many things. But to master your profession, one must focus directly on it with out convoluting what one really does. I have my own network of professionals. I rely on them to refer me to other professionals that I need as well and they rely on me as well. Be  the professional your clients need.

Thanks, Well stated!
