Twitter, Facebook, etc. doesn't work for the over 50 crowd-for the most part! OK, how many of you are involved in these new technological situations? The only reason I am is b/c my children almost mandated it!
When our 50's crowd was growing up, or at 6 years old...we had 2 party phone lines...we played outside, and it was safe in our neighborhood.
In high school, we had a single line, and we drove our parents nuts by being on the phone all night...after all if Mom wanted to talk to her friends, she could do that all day while we were in school.
Then, some of us went to college...graduated and then there was the "bag phone". It was around the 90's, cost over $500.00, and weighed about 20 pounds...but those of us who were "on call" needed it...
Then at the same time, we were trying to figure out what a computer was, how to use it, and why we were scared to use it...
Now, there is Twitter (which I'm not sure why anyone would want to share their daily activities), Facebook, (which is kind of cool, since I was able to get back in touch with member's of my high school, and college class mates).
AND, other mechanism's (SKYPE - HEY I worked with my Dad in 3rd grade on a project that said, "One day we will be able to see and talk to someone on another phone line! My Father was a genious, God rest his soul."
So, WHAT DO YOU, THE OVER 50'S crowd thing about all this new technology? Are you adapting?
