Chef in the Market series begins tomorrow at The Bellingham Farmers Market with demonstrations by local chefs Mataio Gillis and Josh Silverman at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Gillis is chef and co-owner of Ciao Thyme; Silverman is a chef at Nimbus.

This years series focuses on affordable recipes that consist of just a few ingredients that can be purchased at the market, said Caprice Teske, Bellingham Farmers Market director.

Tomorrow is also the day Cascade Cuts opens to the public for a one day fundraiser for Sustainable Connections' Food & Farming Program!

Cascade Cuts is  a wholesale nursery that is open to the public just one day a year for this fundraiser for. It's an awesome place for gardeners, landscapers, and anyone looking for a lovely hanging basket, or some new plants for the yard. You'll find, dozens of varieties of lavender, basil, and other culinary herbs, and of course flowers, flowers, and more flowers as well as intriguing oddities such as coffee trees, hops, compost tea machines, and a host of unusual plants. ...And Thank to Todd Williams for letting us know about Bellingham's 1st Annual Bike Swap tomorrow at the Sportsplex over at Civic Field 10AM - 4 PM Have a great weekend.
