Beautiful picture you have done a great job of capturing the beauty. Tucson does look like a beautiful place to visit.

Intoxicating. How better can the south west be explained?
It's fascinating to me how we tend to take things for granted. When I lived in Washington DC, I used to drive by the Capitol Building every morning on my way to work and upon my return home from work at the end of every day, for 7 years. Looking back, I remember how majestic the building was as you neared it from the 14th street bridge in the morning, and how breath-taking it was seeing it lit up in all it's glory at night when I returned home.
For a couple years I was awe-inspired and continued to feel a deep sense of pride in the monuments in DC. By the end of the 7th year, I realized that I hadn't even looked at the buildings or seen any of the monuments for several years.
How Tragic!
Living in the most powerful city in the world and allowing myself to take for granted all of the symbols of freedom that surrounded me on a day to day basis. I got caught up in the minutia, the proverbial "grind" of DC life, and forgot, essentially, where I was.
I'm writing this because you're post has struck a cord with me. Living here in Scottsdale, AZ and, being only a few hours from where this picture was taken, I realize that I'm surrounded by this here in AZ every single day!
Thanks for reminding me to pause and take a look around. It's easy to just "go go go go" with out appreciating the little things, which, in essense, aren't really that little considering the beauty of it all.

The flower on the cactus is just breathtaking. Its hard to believe that they can produce something so beautiful.
