We Had Awesome Entertainment for the Relay Survivors!! last night at the Relay For Life in Wilton, CT
It turned out to be a beautiful night. Sometimes we have to battle the rains, but this year the weather was perfect for the Relay for Life in Wilton, CT for all of those good souls who walk all night to raise money for the cancer fight. They started set up in the morning, then the fine touches for our dinner began at 3 in the afternoon.
We began the table set ups, the balloons, registration set up, microphones (first time- yea!), food tables, etc. By 5 we had already registered many cancer Survivors and their families, and by 5:30, we had quite a big crowd all with their purple Survivor shirts on, ready for a good celebration evening. The theme this year for the Relay for Life in Wilton, CT was "Happy Birthday and many more" (referring to the years being free of cancer).
Beth Kohl, the chairlady of the entire Relay, opened the celebration with a short speech, and then we had music. I was the only one there with any camera, but not a video camera. Please excuse the quality ... These folks wrote this music for the evening!!!!!!
We then moved on to dinner and cakes, and our raffle!!! My favorite part, since I really enjoy seeing so many return each year, and all with happy faces, ready to celebrate!!! These cancer Survivors at the Relay For Life in Wilton all know that I comb the town for three weeks asking all of the merchants to contribute to our celebration - and some of the goodies are fantastic! A Pandora bracelet, and several huge gift certificates were among the 45 prizes we had this year!
After the raffle, the cancer Survivors did their lap around the field, and then the luminaries....... and on and on all night for those who stayed. A fantastic night!!!!!
