127 Yard Sale

If you are anywhere near Hwy 127 you are possibly, painfully aware that the 127 Yard Sale is in full force.  Those of us in Cumberland and Fentress County that are in a hurry to travel are going all the alternate routes.  The yard salers come from all over the world to view the wares that are available.  It runs more than 600 miles this year.  It stretches from Gadson, AL to Ohio.  This is the worlds largest yard sale and it was  the brain child of the chamber of commerce in Fentress County.  You will find everything imagineable from treasures to junk.  Crossville has the honor of being near the half way point, which is great for my friends that are in the Uhaul business.  People begin the buying trail and find themselves loaded up when they reach the Plateau and are seeking out ways to get their treasures home.  If you have never been to the sale put it on your calender for next year.  It normally runs the first weekend in August.  To be sure what the dates are go to google and put in 127 yard sale and you will find a fountain of information.  The sale has introduced many people to the beauty and hospatility of our area.
