If you are a "baby boomer" like me, then you remember something from the 50's & 60's....the front porch. Their neighbors gathered to talk about politics, religion, sports, the weather and other hot topics of the day. It was a way to connect with your neighbors, as almost every house had a front porch!
Social media is today's front porch, except online and your neighbor may now be 1/2 a world away! But the idea's exchanged and the back-n-forth still exists much the way it did back then. Your neighborhood just became larger, that's all!
So embrace social media, just like your parents or grandparents embrased the talk on the front porch!
