There is some great news for Colorado Springs, specifically at the 4.5-mile stretch of Powers Boulevard from Colorado 83 to I-25. For those who reside in Colorado Springs and enjoy some upscale shopping, such as I do, the necessary trip to Park Meadows Mall in Denver, Colorado can be avoided in the future.
Gary Erickson (a great guy) and his two partners just got Council approval for the urban renewal designation to develop a proposed 2.8 million-square-foot retail complex, called Copper Ridge, in the Northgate area of Colorado Springs.
From the prospect of a Colorado Springs Realtor, this future development will obviously allow the Colorado Springs city government to capture some tax revenues, which are now being lost to the Denver-area retail centers.
But from a smaller and more personal perspective, this new retail center for Northgate will offer some great upscale shops, such as Nordstrom’s, for shopping (my sport) enthusiasts like me. To me, this is fantastic news for this Monday.
