Wow, I have been out of the loop...but I'm Back!

Wow! I have been out of the loop for a few months but I have a very good excuse. I coach a Varsity Baseball team and we just finished our season. My shoulder can attest to the many pitches I had to throw for batting practice.

Anyway, I was figuring out what to write about when I  came across this article from a local Lake Norman magazine that caught my eye. It was about a social site that is called MEETUP.com which offers a number of options for lake dwellers to get connected . Hey great idea!

So I visited the site and are you kidding me! There are pages and pages of all kinds of groups that you can join. Now I know I have been gone for a couple months but is it possible to form that many groups in this area. The Metaphysical Enlightment Group, Lake Norman Toastmasters, Literary Ladies of Color etc...I can go on and on but are people really joining these groups?

Now I can understand joining the Lake Norman wine tasting (which I may have to join) or Newcomers to Lake Norman and even the Charlotte tennis group. They seem very logical and probably very fun to join especially if you are looking for a tennis match. Now please do not get mad at me for not endorsing the Metaphysical group that is not my intention. I guess I have just been out of the loop to realize that the Lake Norman area has evolved to meet the needs of many. 

I have tried to keep up with some of ActiveRains' blogs but to be honest it was hard. I miss you guys and look forward to getting back into the swing of things. Now I am off to investigate this Serenity Suite Social Meetup group.
