Getting a Haircut Soon? Your Cut Hair Can Help Clean Up Oil Spills!

As I was reading about the upcoming events in Broadview Heights Ohio this week, the following was listed as one of the activities:

FREE HAIR CUTS AT RECREATION CENTER

Join us on Mon., May 24 from 1-8PM for a free hair cut.  Stylists from these salons will be ready to cut your hair:  Antoine’s LeJour Spa & Salon, Vanity Avenue Salon & Spa, Dana Lauren Salon & Spa, JW Hair Design, Vibe Salon. Just come with freshly washed hair and it will be cut and shipped off to “Matter of Trust” organization to be prepared for oil clean-up in the Gulf.  Cash donations will also be accepted as well as pantyhose and nylons which are needed to help make the hair booms.

So I looked up Matter of Trust and found the video below on you tube and was astounded. I had no idea this was going on, let alone how effective it is. If you watch the video to the end you will see a teacher demonstrating this to her young students. How wonderful to educate our young kids on the oil spill catastrophes and how natural resources, such as hair can help with the clean up.

Kudos to the salons and stylists participating in this great event.

If you are overdue for a haircut go get one!
