My home needs some help, the ivy is growing wild in the front of the house, and the house next door looks like sanford and son, please help us turn our block into a beautiful street that lights up with awe, our home is beautiful but it needs some curb appeal,,, I lke shabby chic and rustic ornamental things, please help us save our blcok from disaster.

Our home really need some extended loving care that we cannot afford to do ourselves.  We would like to move closer to family members and be able to alleviate the stress of the house to have good curb appeal.  When we first moved in we painted, and put in new windows and doors, made a little porch, and put a fountain in the front yards to make our home as comfortable as possible and it HAD curb appeal. My husband and I raised a family and lived in our home for 16 years and fixed little things from time to time.  However, now the tree in front yard is blocking the skies, the septic tank need to be more modernized, the porch need some touching up, the (dead)grass needs to come alive again along with the weeds being removed away from the house, the fountain in the front needs to work properly, and the fence need to be completed.  Sometimes I feel bad for our next door neighbor because she keeps her house and front yard looking so nice and we just keep trying to keep up and maintain what we have now. We like modern and comptempory style of things and believe you guys would find it challenging but enjoyable to work on this particular home and give it back its curb appeal. PLEASE HELP US PUT THIS CUTE LITTLE ONE STORY HOUSE BACK TO LOOKING APPEALING TO THE EYE FOR A NEW FAMILY TO GROW UP IN JUST LIKE WE DID.

I am a single parent of 2 beautiful young boys. As a single parent like any other, I try to make certain my children live in a dignafy residence they can be proud of calling home. I have made some improvements to the outer view of my home, hence had to halt any additional fixes since my single income does not financially allow me to continue further.

I watch every episode of Curb Appeal ,dreaming of how beautiful my home could be one day with a little of your magic touch !!

My lawn and front view are an eyesore. I have this big tree in front of my home that does not show the magnificant colonial character my home has. From my driveway, my backyard can be view and trust me .. nothing to excite the eye.

I am not only writting for myself. I have a neighbor whom is a senior citizen  and although she so tries to maintain curb appeal, her home too needs desperate help. Your team is fantastic with helping others .. help us please!!!

My husband and I have a blank slate front and backyard!! We moved here from Canada 15 years ago and have owned our home for 8. We bought it and have had to do tons of work to make it liveable. We've had some financial set backs and really haven't had the time or money to tackle the project outside. I sit on my front stairs, siping my PG tips, dreaming of what it could be!! We would be grateful to have you come and add your wonderful expertise to make it into a glorious oasis for friends and family!!

I need somebody asp I work hard in my yard and it seem like i'm getting no where.i have no help please somebody help me. I don't care what you do in my yard. my husband is a couch potatoe. I,m getting a burn and burn up. everything around the house I try hard to do myself. I;m 52 years old. I watch your show and wishing that it was. I know dreams do come true. I have a granddaughter that tuturnig two year and I would love for her to have somwwhere to play.

My front yard is such a wasted piece of real estate. My yard is rock with a few schrubs. I'm longing for a front yard that can be used for day dreaming and socializing. A yard that will attract birds. A yard that can be a restful retreat. It should say something about the homeowner's personality. It should be inviting and not a hazzard waiting to happen because of no porch railing or no lighting. I have a theme in mind, but no funds to make it happen. I walk the neighborhood to find ideas and dream about how to incorporate them into my yard. I'm hoping that someday others might stop by my yard and take some ideas away with them after the "Yard Makeover". I could happen!

Dear John                                                                                                                                         My home is in desperate repair. I inherited my home when my mother passed away. My brothers and sisters gave the home to me because I was my mothers care giver. The siding on the house is in bad shape. The front porch has four metal pieces holding up the entire porch and they are bent causing the upper part to swagger. My husband and I would love to see them replaced with columns. The windows in the home are original windows from when the home was built in 1955. We currently have no outside lighting. The storm door needs to be replaced.  My husband is a heart patient and it is very difficult for him to do much work around the home. I am trying desperately to keep up the yard work but it is very hard with the mower that we have. I work and on my days off I have to do the yard work. I love your work and watch you on T.V. every Sunday. Our problem is not so much our house but a total eyesore  house next door. We have lived in this neighborhood for 43 years and to my knowledge, nothing has EVER been done to this house . The paint is peeling, the gutters falling off and the weeds are unbelievable. There is so much clutter on the front porch that it is dangerous.Is there anything that you can do to provide us and our neighbors  a nice view of this property? We, as neighbors have offered to paint , plant and generally clean up but have met with resistance.

The owner is a 74 and lives with her son who seems to be dependent on her. Please , please help????

I really need help in my back yard. I just retired from the military and my wife is a teacher. We do not have much time to do anything to our yard and I do not know anything about fixing a yard up. I have three little girls. Breonna, 13, Xandria, 6, and Tallil, 4. And they really want a back yard that is kids friendly to play in.

Dear John,

        I am a 54 year old woman who raised one daughter on my own. I live alone now because my daughter is grown and married. I have worked all my life very hard for all I have. I have never asked for any help before and have done many projects on my home myself. But here is the thing, my yard is horrible!!!!!!!! I have tried putting sod down and it died. Then I tried covering the yard with mulch because sod wouldnt grown and it turned black and stunck! My driveway is cracked. I have an adorable shed that I rebuilt and put a new roof on myself out in the back yard. But the yard itself is one big dirt ball. I think there is like two spots of grass left. All the rest has died. I need help! So for the first time in my life, I am asking, please help me fix my back yard.

Now we need you to use your charm and wit on our home in Evanston IL.   We are the first suburb north of Chicago surrounding Lake Michigan.  Evasnton is a very open-minded, diverse, and very "green" suburb filled with Victorian, Farmhouse, Bungalow, Mid-century, and Modern style homes.  You would love the architechural diversty.

We own a Red-brick Chicago Bungalow fixer upper with no "Curb Appeal" and dwarfed by what my 7 year old daughter calls Pine tree forest!

Our style is an eclectic mix of Craftsman, Mid-century modern and Asian influences in the interior ...or we can settle on just one style for the exterior.

My story begins 6 years ago and the love for the place I call home. I was fortunate enough to settle in Portage Lakes, Oh ( Paradise, with a slice of heaven). Our area is simple yet full of all things in life that have purpose. Well enough about my opening statement, time to present my reality of a home owner in my area.

 Myself and all locals accept the mind -set of trying to enjoy life, raising the young ones, boating and tipping a cold-one now and then to keep that sense of reality, hence my personal circumstance.

I have mustard-ed up the energy and commitment to renovate 3/4 s of the inside house I  purchased, yet 6 years later I still have a shabby/not so appealing concept of curb appeal.  Although I have landscaping over the entire yard, (which is very large) I have no consistent theme that compliments the possibilities that exist.

On a lighter note I have watched your TV program for many years and always get inspeeration from a DYI prospective and Thank you for the effort and positive presentation you provide for the average person with dreams of curb-appeal.

Hi Hgtv.  love your show but your do it yourself weekends makes me laugh,  I live in Pa and 5 years ago I talked 6 0f my neighbors  to move with me around the corner to a new develiopment. I started out great with professional land scaping but thats where it stoped. But my friends keep going they moved into the back yard,  everyone except me and girfriend Sue nextdoor. We are the funny joke that we are open to the woods so the deer can join us for a cook out lol. We are the last houses to go in and we backup to a wooded area, the homeowners put up a white PVC fence that runs the leanth of the nine houses ..except Sues and mine, we have a old metel with bob-wire with big holes in it ,YES! bob-wire. Our yards are small 110 x 45  you would think we could figure somthing out. We have had pavers and concrete Co out, but they pull up to our homes and the price gose uo 100% We are both out working in the front mulching and planting but when it comes to out back we are the joke of the neighborhood lol... Our friends have side they will all get together and have a yard party but after a few drinks and some plastic furniture we move to another house ...with some great yards. We are not lazy we just need some cost efficient Ideas  so our friends stop laughing.

I'm in a big mess...my retaining wall is falling...The railroad ties that sustain the wall are rotten...sink holes have develped in the yard in front of the wall...my foundation is in jeopardy...and... I now have snakes nesting in between the rotten ties...YUCK...I hate snakes! Would you consider coming to Birmingham, AL to just look and advise me on what to do...!!!! ~J

I love you, your show and all things HGTV !  You are always so creative and inspirational!!

Will you ever consider coming to Florida??

Right before the recession hit, my husband, Michael, moved from up North and bought an old ranch home on the Caloosahachee River in Fort Myers, Florida.  The river is a beauty . . . a mile wide pouring out into the Gulf of Mexico (it looks like we are on the ocean!). You have to see this spectacular view for yourself!!  And it is such a peaceful and calming environment. Thomas Edison and Henry Ford built winter homes on this magnificient river which is intercoastal and runs from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean!  It was a dream come true for us and we have worked very, very hard to rennovate the interior of our home which is now complete. Before the recession hit, Fort Myers was slated to become the next Fort Lauderdale.  We are still holding on to that dream! . . . and our dream of finishing our home in paradise.

I have watched many episodes of Curb Appeal, dreaming of how beautiful our home could be someday with your creative ideas and magic touch!  Our daughter and son-in-law gave us our first grandson in February 2012 and now our son and daughter-in-law are expecting twins in November!  It would be a blessing for them to be able to spend time with us in tropical paradise and have mini vacations while also getting away from the freezing ice and snow of long Vermont winters.  We have created a little tropical paradise internally, but externally we are a disaster and lack more than curb appeal!  I love gardening and flowers and cannot wait to plant.  I also dream of having a hydroponic garden where we can grow organic vegetables for the family, neighbors and those less fortunate in our community.  If my hyproponic garden is a success, then perhaps we can find a donor who will create a larger community organic garden for the poor people in this area.  The recession and unemployment have hit this area very badly.

In December, 2011, I required a tri-level artifical disc surgery on my neck and have been diligently doing therapy to get back to normal so I can work on the exterior yard with my husband.  I developed a right frozen shoulder due to the surgery and had to have that fixed and more therapy!  I was laid off from my job and have not been able to find new employment yet.  Our lawn and front view are an eyesore. I have an oak tree in front of my home that hides the beautiful character of our remodeled home. The circular drive needs repaving, the front and back yards need landscaping.  I want so dearly to create that special tropical paradise on the exterior just like we have on the interior, but I had to use all of my savings to pay for my cervical neck surgery, as the insurance company will not pay for M-6 discs since they are not FDA approved in the USA yet.  M6 is manufactured in the USA in California, but we USA ciitizens cannot get the only disc on the market that exactly mimicks the full rotation of a real disc!  M6 has been CE approved in Europe since 2005 and is used with great success!

With no funds left for the exterior renovation, it will now take us years to complete the outside and have a place for our kids and grandkids to enjoy!!

Our next door neighbor is a senior citizen and although she so tries to maintain curb appeal, her home's interior and exterior need desparate help! You and your team are so fantastic with helping others . . . please help us with some of your magical "curb appeal"!!  I can promise you that delicious home-cooked meals will be served to you and your team . . . and Michael and I are ready and willing to pitch in and help in anyway you can use us!!

Hi John

I love your show and all the beautiful things you can do and transform a yard. My yard is in desperate need of your touch. Our problem is that we live in a cul du sac (corner house) and our property is everyone's playground, kids from all over the neighborhood come over play on the swings and get on the trampoline and their mothers sit on the bench that are on my property and enjoy my property . I work hard to keep my yard clean and looking nice....They are enjoying the yard more than my family is. I had to take down the trampoline because the neighbors kids used it more than mine. My daughter is now 15 but she barely got to use it because they tore it up. Not only that I am tired of picking up dog poo because everyone walks their dog and well I can't get grass to grow either. I would love to be able to enjoy my yard with my family and not worry of stepping on poop bombs. 

My husband is a police officer/ retired military. He is not able to help with all the yard work now because he got hurt on the job and is out with rotator cuff injury, both shoulders. So it is all on me. Can you help me I would really appreciate it. Come to Philadelphia and I will make sure i cook for you and make you the best Mexican dish you have ever had. promise!

Hi , my name is Jane I would like to enter the curb appeal for my husband he has been wanting to do something with the front yard but the funds have been null the ground is so uneven because we bought the lot next door they came after they tore down the house they brought in dump trucks of sand but didn't level it and as a result of that we have high and low spots ....the front of the house, garden needs help too I've bought flowers from if the shopping channel but they haven't been growing they grow one year not the next i don't know what to do. I have call the people that put the sand to fix the lot they said no that is all they are going to do for the lot ... we really need your help. My husband works very hard to fix it but we live pay check to pay check so we don't have the extra money to fix it. Thank You

Amen well to start I live in Detroit Michigan I have lived here all my life I have lived in my home forever working very hard for Years trying to keep everything together. My neighborhood is not a show stopper there aren't many homes on the block when the house next door to me was torn down I purchased the lot next door . I applied for a loan from the city to purchase a fence to put around the yard since doing that I haven't had much money to finish. Just by chance I looked online to try to find something just like this some show that does make overs for people such as myself hopefully your show could come and do a makeover for me.
