Hibiscus Sure Seem Happy in Florida, and So Is This Cowgirl!

Taking time to wander, spend time with family and friends, and work on my new Ocala websites (such as Ocalalicious and Juicy Tidbits, and my [not ready] Breaking Ocala News site) is allowing me the luxury of doing 5 to 6 miles on the pavement every morning, snapping pictures along the way. My main website is Horsealicious, which will be my focus once I am spending more time in Ocala.

There are so many beautiful 'Florida hibiscus' everywhere! Coming from Hawaii, hibiscus are a welcome sight to me. I remember my mother hoping to have luck with the plumeria trees she planted in Sarasota (she was unsuccessful!). However, I do know plumeria can thrive here in the Sunshine State.

Here are more of my May 2010 Florida Photos.

Andres, thank you for your comments, and you aren't the first person who told me that (about Dolly)! Would love to have her lungs ... I mean, of course, I wish I could sing like her. ;-)

Hi Susie, I have a red hibiscus that is going crazy right now with flowers all over it. Sounds like your settling right in in Ocala. Good for you.

PS- Theres plenty of cowboys in Ocala. ;>p

Susie...awesome pictures...but that goes with the photographer I guess! (wink)

One thing I loved about living in Miami was how everything was green and growing year round. When Ray and I had our house for a year, we were at Home Depot every weekend and had an incredible yard with flowers and all!

Yard's coming along this year...but no flowers...yet. Maybe when I return from MT?

Lovely and bright flowers Susie. I just got back from a 10 day trip down to Lake Placid, Sebastian and Cocoa...love these NC mountains, but it was really great down there. Miss bright flowers and those huge oaks and spanish moss.
