Fun Creative Marketing - Think outside the box or steal an idea

OK.... I was reading REALTOR magazine and the was a small article on creative marketing and it talked about an agent who had a second business card that was more for fun, but that some people might just hang onto. I thought it was a good idea, so I ordered a set from vista print (250 cards for free, about $5.00 shipping) using this link www.vistaprint.com/hotdeals. This card doesn't replace my professional business card, but should make a fun conversation starter at social events and networking opportunities.

Here is my card I designed on the vista print site that only took me a few minutes. I thought it was a fun idea, even if I didn't think of it first. I am always looking for ways to work outside the box.

Have a great night!!!

How fun!  I was thinking of getting some specific cards made up for FSBO, listings, etc but the thought of funny/cute cards is GREAT... stolen or not :)

I love it!!  Anything that will stop people for a second and make them take a closer look is great.  Thank you for sharing!!

I love the idea. Just curious , if you hand out cards with those numbers would it annoy the people on that list. ? Would they take any action? Because I would like to use your idea.

Brad- That's a pretty good idea. Have you gotten any business from the cards.

Great idea Brad . . . anything that makes you "stand out from the rest" to get noticed is "a Good Thing!"  Wishing you continued success.

Interesting idea! The fake numbers...I have not called them but if I did, who do I get?

Great idea, Brad!  It'll leave no doubt that you'll pass the fun test if you wind up being their agent!  And I'm using the right numbers when I steal this one!

The best card I ever saw looked like a $50 folded in half. When you opened it inside was the contact information, every one wanted one.

Brad, I saw this idea in Realtor magazine also and thought it was a fun idea.  Good luck with it!

Todd & Danielle....

Humor can be great in the right situations, but once you build a little trust with your clients they often come to rely upon you for more than the scope of your services. "I know you're my real estate agent, but do you know anyone who can fix my garage door?"

Great idea and if used correctly, this could be a great marketing tool.

What a fun way to get someone's attention ...  Thanks for sharing, Brad.

This looks like a fun thing to try.  Did you just make up the phone numbers?

08/05/2007 10:12 PM by Eddie Bigness (Keller Williams Realty)

Thanks for the comments....

YES, the phone numbers are fake. I added a line that says "celebrity numbers are not real"

You could use important #s like the police department or fire department and the sherrif then put YOUR # there as the last saying ... and when you have whatever type of business you are in emergency you can call me at whatever # you want... that way the person will not only pay attention to the card but will keep it for the important info on it.

Great idea!  This is the kind of marketing that people will remember! Definitely Outside of the Box!  I also like Thalia's idea of using important numbers that everyone can use.

Thanks for sharing, Brad!

08/13/2007 11:06 AM by Jeff Turner (Real Estate Shows)

That's a really creative card.  Have you had much of a response from those you've handed the cards out to?  I'm sure you get pretty big grins :)

Brad,  I love the concept.  Thank you for sharing with us.  I do not get the Realtor periodical pieces.  Thanks for sharing with the class!  Best wishes with it!  :-)

Brad, OK the idea is good. Why didn't I think of it first? Am I also stealing if I consider it an idea worthy of myself? Can I change it a little and make it my own?

Bill Roberts

P.S. I have about 20 different cards from VistaPrint already. They are a great resource. I used to sell business cards as a sideline but I couldn't compete with them.

Wow -- Great idea!  Way to get attention and a good laugh!
