I wanted to try using my gmail to write this blog (thanks for the idea Brad).
Real estate is a numbers game, and so is blogging.
Give up too soon and all your efforts really were a waste of time.
But stick with it and develop a following...for your professional influence and for your blog!!
This post will break the 400K mark for me,and more importantly...coincides with making 11,000 comments on others posts.
For the last 30 months I have reached out to my colleagues, and the public using the Activerain platform.
The results started off as encouraging, the connections life changing and the public inquiries more than I could have hoped for.
The marketing tools and friends I have made here in the rain would have been plenty reason to stay and socialize on this great real estate site. The amount of sellers looking for a knowledgeable Realtor and finding me due to the Activerain platform has been over the top good.
Buyers looking to hire a buyer's agent to be their advocate in a complicated property transaction when listed by a competitor has given me the edge over many others in my market place.
When I ask callers where they found me, the answers predominately comes back...we did a google search and a blog you wrote on this subject or that ...led us to you. Oh and by the way what the heck is Activerain...and what does that name mean?
So thanks Activerain , thanks to those following my blog, and thanks to my newest clients that verified this has not been a waste of time.
I wrote this in my gmail and forwarded a copy to myself as a back up to the post.
You can open create email...write a blog, cut and paste it directly to your Activerain post...wanted to try to see what the font , color and look would appear as in a post. What do you think?

I think it looks great and congrats on 400k. Looking forward to keeping up with your life, family and your market for the next 400k.
Bill, In retrospect the colors are a bit much...but I wanted to write this in the body of an email, forward to myself and see if I could cut and paste the text to a blog...cool idea, don't you think?
I think it looks marvelous, what a great idea. I missed Brad's post about it, I will have to search it out and read up...
Congrats on 400K, Steve! Looks like Gmail offers a nice variety of formatting options, and for those who already use Gmail for business it's a good way to extend that platform.
Congratulations on 440k Steve! Perseverance and consistency pays off and you're proof of that. Thanks!
Janna, It is a great tutorial and makes sense to offer another place to blog from...in our busy careers.
Thanks for the idea, Steve! I used ScribeFire but this seems so much easier! I will be checking it out for my next post this afternoon!
Leesa. scribefire and word do offer the most flexibility but, again if you write in an email format and the content works as a post...it's one less step to blog from the gmail - body.
Full of color Steve. I never knew we could use our gmail accounts for Active Rain. I guess it's one more thing for me to explore!
Steve - That is fun and creative! I always use an editing tool to change the font, then copy the html into AR as a draft. Maybe gmail would be quicker.
Bill give it a try , I'm working from a b.berry and using gmail to post while at my son's track meet.
Steve - I cannot get it to work, what am I doing wrong? Emailed a gmail to myself, copy and pasted, and it is still black.
Wendy before you send copy the body then paste to a new blog sending the email isn't a function of making it work that just gives you the back up.
Steve - This may be something that I can utilize. I missed Brad's post, but will have to give it a try.
Steve - Very interesting. I didn't even think about writing a post in gmail. Also, Active Rain has been good to me with people being able to find me.
Robert, I like the idea if you can get on the Internet you can open gmail, and therefore you can write a post even if you have no "word document" on a computer.
Thanks Mark...that's the way to make the point, Cool thanks.
I've been using it all day! Simple, Fun and works! Now to get rid of scribefire, komposer, and a ton of other crap I've tried to make things more interesting.
This earns the highly coveted and much sought after GRID'S THUMBS UP!
