Make it happen!

Real Estate Broker/Owner with IHP Real Estate
Many people govern their lives by what they hear in the media.  People hear that the real estate market is taking a downward turn and they tend to think that it's across the board.  Well, heres a news flash - everything that you hear concerning the real estate market does not apply to EVERY area.  I'm thankful to know that I live in an area to where the market is pretty stable.  Of course a few years ago it was easy to be a real estate agent and sell houses because Buyers were coming out of the woodworks.  Now, the true real estate professionals will take their rightful place once again.  The ones who can tackle what seems to be a tough market and prove that people are still buying and selling.  For those who didn't know, to sell real estate takes blood, sweat and tears.  The truly called agents will survive and will continue to make it happen!

Very true. The real estate market should be measured and analyzed locally.

You are right, and people also need to realize all the hype behind the media.  Houses are still selling and will continue to do so regardless of what the market is like.

Real estate is local. Period.  There are many areas that are not troubled with real estate issues. THere are some climbuing upward, but nobody writes about it, either.

Kevin, good post.  I am not a realtor, however, I have been in business and bought and sold homes over the years in both good and bad markets.  Everything is cyclical and the past several years have not been very realistic real estate markets.  Business professionals need to remember NOT to go into "freeze mode" when the market slows down.. "slow and steady" wins the race - you must keep marketing, selling and moving forward, one property at a time.
