Toto -

Should I say Bottoms UP?

Yup! Now there are High Performance Toilets on the market! Bottom line is (no pun intended) they awesome for energy savings. Toto donated not just one, but two Dual Flush Toilets to Steve, the homeowner of the Herkelrath Project...how jealous am I? Special thanks goes to Adam, The Hybrid Home Guy, for arranging that!

What is a dual flush toilet? Two flush choices

  1. solids
  2. liquids

(otherwise known as #1 and #2)

As innovative as their toilet's are Toto's advertisements!!!

I just had to share with my ECO Friends...you have to see this for yourself!

 Clean Is Happy!!!

Check this out - it will require flash player! What a great way to introduce a product no one wants to talk about!!!

Make it a great day!

Roberta - I agree on the viral nature of it! I'd like to know which advertising agency came up with it. They did a great job! Thanks for your comments!

Todd and Danielle - That's making a statement - it must make you never want to leave the throne! I remember the day that I first saw a phone next to the commode - how GROSS to talk to someone while they are taking care of business! I like the music idea - a little background music probably helps those that are shy! Thanks for sharing! What other innovations are included in your Japanese office?

ADAM - you are so right about their marketing! Product longevity is so important, especially with the special features TOTO offers. Thanks for your comments!

Sounds like a cleaner way to save water than the old "if it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down" of the early days of water coservation.  It sounds, though, that it is an energy user (pumps, heated seat and air dryer) rather than an energy saver.

Hi David -

Thanks for the comments. Actually, the product in this ad is not the dual flush toilet I spoke of. This is another product of Totos that can retrofit to any toilet (its just a seat). It'd be interesting to find out how much water it actually uses. I suppose it is saving paper!!! Thanks for the comments and the thoughts!

JULIA - did you notice the lid even closes on it's own? I wonder if it cleans ITSELF also! Now wouldn't THAT be a dream!

Wow, Mary!  Who woulda thunk, right?  A very creative solution to a very unfortuante problem!  Thanks for the post!  When you get one of those style toilets, please let us know how it all worked out!  ;0)
