Thank God for a local resource about to go online June 12, 2010, the Rogue Valley Local Foods organization. June 11th, we’ll be able to go online at www.RogueValleyLocalFoods.org and place our order for fresh, in-season produce, meats, dairy and eggs online. I was so happy to hear about www.RogueValleyLocalFoods.org when the first of May rolled around and the only thing growing in our vegetable plots was three foot tall weeds and last year’s strawberries! Of course, if the deer mosey along and help themselves to the strawberries, we may not need the fresh meat (just kidding). With three convenient locations to pick your order up, I’ll be able to swing by on my way home from work and grab the goodies:

Rogue Creamery Cheese Shop, 311 N. Front Street in Central Point, 4-7pm
Grains Beans & Things, 820 Crater Lake Ave. #113 in Medford, 4:30-6:30pm
Club Northwest, 2160 NW Vine Street in Grants Pass, 4:30-6:30pm

I can’t wait for the fresh spring/summer/ fall goods without the investment of one of the commodities I’m so lacking right now – time!

Sounds like a great concept......a place to buy produce on your way home. Don't tell Albertsons, Freddies or Safeway - they'll just go and duplicate it.

Thanks for the information Karen. I'm glad there will be one in Grants Pass too. As usual my wife got Spring fever and planted her garden too early, the tomatoes and peppers froze. I think this is a better alternative than replanting.

Hi Gary - I'll admit, I've jumped the gun on putting the garden in before "last frost" too. Figured "who the heck REALLY knows when last frost is goingt to be...I'm going for it" :-)
