Honoring Carole Provenzale... a Mother a Friend a Mentor and so Much more...she was our Everything

Feng Shui consultant Carole ProvenzaleCarole Provenzale

Dear Friends of Carole Provenzale,

My name is Laura Cerrano, Carole Provenzale's daughter, I had the pleasure of meeting some of you at RainCamp in New York City.  I want to honor my mother by thanking her for EVERYTHING that she has done for my brother Adam and I.  She has no idea the gift she has given us, being our mother, best friend, we could not have ask for a better mentor and mother.

Unfortunately our mother passed yesterday 5/18/2010 around 6pm.  She was dealing with multiple health issues and finally she went in peace in her sleep with Adam and I by her bedside.  She always told me how much she loved the Activerain community and the hundreds of people she connected with who then became friends and she loved very much :)

I will do my best to continue my mother's work and up keep her blogs, business and continue to teach and inspire you with the teachings of Feng Shui.

Oh, my Laura.  I had no idea.  Your mother was an incredibly kind and selfless individual who took a lot of her valuable time to share with me how things worked on Active Rain when I joined last September.  She went out of her way to help newcomers to AR and was a tireless and faithful commenter helping individuals grow in the AR community.

I will forever miss her posts about the NY and LI areas, and will always remember her loving tributes to her mom, brother and her dad.

May God grant you the peace that passes all understanding in the hours, days, and weeks to come.

How fitting in one of her very last posts she had pictures of her beloved butterflies!

Laura - I am so saddened to hear this terrible news. Your mom and I, although we had only met here in the Rain, formed a wonderful bond through emails and pictures and, of course, our blogs. Your mom was my link to my old stomping grounds of Long Island. The pictures she posted; the events she attended, were all scenes from my past. I couldn't thank her enough whenever I commented on her posts.

I dubbed your mom the Queen of Long Island Feng Shui some time ago, and many of my friends here adopted it as her moniker. Forever and always your mother will be a beloved member of the ActiveRain community.

But, to me, she was a friend.

Rest in peace Carole. You will be missed.

Laura, may your grieving time be short, but your memories be long.

With the deepest of sorrow,

Craig

Laura, I am so deeply sorry to hear of this news.  As I type this the tears are rolling down my face.  I will miss her so and cannot even imagine your pain.  Since I had started here in the rain we had corresponded through email about various things as well as on our blogs.  She was such a kind person and I will always remember her.

I wish you and your family the best and you will be in my prayers.

Rest in peace Carole.

Laura,

Sending you giant hugs and please know, like we talked about earlier today, that I am always and always will be here for you.

This tribute to your Mom is beautiful beyond words. I'm certain your Mom is still with us and looking down on you both and knows in her heart that you will both be ok.
She loved you and Adam so dearly and was so very proud of you and the wonderful young woman you had grown to be.

My thoughts and prayers are with you,

sending love and hugs,

Jo

I am in total shock -- your mom communicated not long ago and never mentioned that she was sick -- she worked as moderator on the Feng Shui group here on A/R for a long time -- and only recently sent a note that she needed to "work on some other projects that would take her time" and wanted not to moderate for a bit but talked about how she would come back to do it .

All the best to you and your entire family -- she will be missed --

Laura, I feel so foolish. Your mother and I had bonded some time back a couple of years ago. We not only had a recriprocal admiration society going but we jumped off the key board and visited several times. I have such a warm spot in my heart for your mother. She taught me so much through her wonderful writings and through her fantastic attitude towards life. How on earth did I not realize the extent of her illness? One thing I do know is that she loved you two very, very much.

Active Rain, all her friends and family have been so incredibly blessed for having known and loved her. Do keep her writings going. She would want you to do that and if you are like your mom at all...you will also bring joy and education to many!

I am more than sorry to hear this. I wish I could have spoken to her again. She will be missed and there is truly going to be a hole in my heart.

Thank you for carrying on with her memory and legacy. God bless all of you and Carol is always going to be with us.

I imagine the name and thoughts of Carole Provenzale will live on for a very long time - it seems impossible to me that one with her heart and intentions (and dedication to her craft, Feng Shui) will be easily forgotten or put by the wayside.  Carole will live in my own heart as I easily remember our conversations and laughter - and all that I learned from her by her life long example.

Please, if you should want to chat with yet another friend of hers, give me a call.  I do so love her dearly.

Praying for peace and comfort for you and Adam as you adjust to this new life.

Dear Laura and Adam-my deepest sympathy to you-may you soon feel the peace your mother now has. She wrote several emails to me a few months back about her challenges. She was so brave and strong-I hoped to meet her this summer when I was going to visit NY. She and her blogs were such an inspiration to me and I am so grateful to know her. Blessings to you and your family. Love, Cathy Lee

Laura - You and Adam and the rest of your family are in my prayers.  I also had no idea that your mom was sick.  We spoke a few months ago for the first time, and I was struck by how warm she seemed over the phone.  I had known her via her blog since mid-2007.  I'm so sorry to hear of your loss (and ours).  She seemed like a very special lady.

Dear Laura and family,

I am so sad to hear of Carole's passing.  She had mentioned having health issues, but never in a complaining way, and she put forth such positive energy for everyone else that we must have thought she had much for herself as well.  Just yesterday I thought of Carole and how I needed to contact her for a consultation ... and now learn that is when she passed.  I can tell from your writing that you will carry on your mother's legacy in spirit, and I pray that the knowledge of how much she was so loved and respected here on A/R will give you and your brother some comfort.  Your family is in my thoughts and I'll try to honor your  mother's memory by remembering what she so generously and wisely shared with us.  Please accept my deepest condolences and love,

Maureen

Laura and Adam,

I had no idea, she never let on.  Carole was hands down my favorite blogger on Active Rain. She is the one person that I followed and connected with on a regular basis and I will so miss her.  She inspired me and although I never met her she has influenced my life permanently.  She will be deeply missed.  Sending you love and light across the miles.

Laura, it is with great sadness to hear of this news about your mom Carole. I was absolutely flabbergasted of this sudden news. I was not aware that she was even ill as she always portray positive vibes throughout her posts. She was a person with extremely positive chi and it clearly shows in her writing.

I've been reading her posts these past several months and gotten to 'know' her through her writing. Although we have never met, I can feel that we somehow know each other through our reciprocal comments. I recently commented on one of her latest posts yesterday about the 'butterfly' and then came this unexpected news.

I've commented in the past that she had brought you up well based on her teaching of Feng Shui that she was passing down to you. As I write this, I am still stunned. We will dearly miss her posts and commentaries and her interaction here in the Rain. I know she has trained you well and your remarkable writing she instilled in you will continue her legacy. Please send our deepest condolences and prayers to you and your brother. I know this can be a difficult time and wishing you both our best wishes. As you two move forward on this life, know that you have to remain strong as I believe those would be her wishes for you and Adam.

The yin and yang of Feng Shui will forever remain in Long Island. With sincere acknowlegement, it was an honor and a privilege to be provided with this opportunity through Activerain to 'know' your mom Carole. She is an inspiration through her colorful writing. May her teachings continue through your expert knowledge of Feng Shui for now and beyond.

Laura--I am so sad to hear of the loss of your mother. She and I started our blogging "adventures" around the same time and was one of the ones I always tried to read and share comments with even when times were very busy. We had exchanged emails quite often and she was one of the people I had hopes of meeting one day if I ever had a chance to visit NYC again. I had no idea she was so ill other than when she had posted about the mold found in the home...but really thought she was doing much better as she always projected such a positive spirit.

Carole will be greatly missed by many in the Rain...she touched so many hearts. I know from several of her posts, how much she loved and admired you & your brother. If she was your teacher, you will be awesome taking over her Feng Shui business as I have learned so much about this intriguing art from Carole. As she would say, Blessings to you and your family as well as my sincerest sympathies.

Hello Laura.  May the peace of God keep you and your family and friends in comfort in your grieving.  Know that we are touched along with you as we reflect on the enhancements brought to our lives as a result of the ministry of love distributed by your mother.

Carole was a tremendous blessing to us here at Active Rain.  She found time to exhort everyone she came in contact with as evidenced by her comments.  I am very fortunate to have encountered and experienced her out pour of love and heartfelt kindness.  She had a gift for sensing out those that were imbalanced, overwhelmed, and just plain unorganized.... we have read all about her efforts to reach them.  I for one have marvelled at her sensitivity to those that were taken advantage of, and have noted her virtue as a viable seasoning to be coveted after.

We at Active Rain are grateful to have experienced Carole, and will remember her work of charity.  It is my prayer that the words expressed by this community will help ease the pain of you missing her in person..... for her presence is an everliving essence.....

I wish you and your brother the strength to find peace with your enormous loss. I too held my mother's hand along with my brother and sister in 2005 as she left us. Death of a parent, especially at a young age is something that never completely heals, but surely makes you wiser about life, love and your own spiritual destiny.

Laura,

I had no idea she was even sick. We chatted about Feng Shui and I feel like I've lost a very close friend, even tho I only knew her here, on Active Rain.

We all think we're so busy, and then something like this comes across my computer screen and I realize, none of it really matters if we don't have our health and our loved ones. Suddenly, paperwork doesn't seem all that important.

You and your brother are in my thoughts and prayers. We will all feel this loss, and I am deeply sorry.

Respectfully,

Laura ~ I am so incredibly sorry to hear this news about your mother. I did not ever meet her but noticed her on the feature page of ActivRain many times. I read and left comments on her blog and noticed that she was well respected and lover by her friends here on ActiveRain. She will surely be missed! Thank you for taking the time to share a few things about her life with us.

Carole was a very special person. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Adam.

 Aloha Laura,

Blessings to you and your family. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and appreciation for your Mother, who was a cornerstone here at Activerain. Carol will be missed.

Peace,

you get in touch with the mother,

Laura and Adam,

You know how I feel about your mom and always will. We were close friends for... 15+ yrs? and I could never see her enough. I'm so glad we had a few visits in these last weeks. I always missed her when we didn't have time together! I wandered onto AR today and OMG - so many people are sending you such loving and caring thoughts about Carole.  My tears just keep flowing as I read! She put so much time and love and energy into giving giving giving!  I have to read and reread all her blogs..... And you are the same as your mom! Thank you for the beauiful words and pictures and tribute that you put up here. I already know that I will always feel your mom's presence - right next to me!  I never felt that before with anyone else I've lost in my life. I feel it a little with my father, but more so with Carole!  I love you and hope to be in your life always, as you continue your wonderful journey. You deserve happiness and everything positive! Rest in peace Carole! Love Sue

Dear Laura & Adam,

Your mom was always one of the first to comment on any of my posts here on Active Rain.  We always said that if she got to California or I got to New York we'd meet in person, and I'm so sad that she's now gone and that will never happen.  She was so warm and loving and was a real friend, empathetic and caring.  I miss her already...  I'm sure she'd be happy that you're going to continue her legacy, Laura.  That makes me happy too.

I knew that Carole had some health problems.  We talked about it once or twice but she seemed to think it wasn't as big a deal as all that.  I am guessing that when she got sicker than usual, she probably expected to pull out of it just fine. She was always upbeat and seeing the positive. If she had any clue that she was on her way to God, she never hinted at it. It's great that you were with her when she died. What a blessed way to go, surrounded by love.

Thank you for letting us know.  You have my heartfelt and deep sympathy.  Sending prayers for peace and healing.

Mary

I just don't know what to say....Carol was a friend that I adored talking to both on Active Rain and on the phone.  The first time we ever talked back in 2007 I remarked at how easy she was to talk to, and how you could just feel the warmth through the phone.  A truly wonderful person!

Laura...I know how proud your mom was of you guys...and how much she loved that you were her partner in her Feng Shui Consulting business.  The last time I talked to her a few months ago she was telling me that you were doing most of the new consults, and you could hear her pride.  I just adored your mom like so many many of her friends here.

This has taken me completly by shock...I so prayed that her meds were working. I am so glad to hear that she went peacefully and that both you and Adam were by her side.  I am just as glad that you will be carrying on her work.

Peace and Condolences to all of you from a Califrornia friend.

Laura and Adam, Susan Mangigian just let me know about the loss of Carole. I am so sad for your loss of your dear Mom. You are absolutely right about her being dearly loved here within the Active Rain community and our #1 expert on Feng Shui. She was one of my most consistent commenters on my blog posts and numerous others and I got to know Carole on the side with some email exchanges. She would joke about her short stature of being five feet even. Carole had one of the most pure hearts of anyone I know and she would always give us lovely tours with photographs around the New York area. A gem of a person and all of us who were touched by Carole were very, very blessed. I honor her by telling you I loved Carole and she was very, very special in my life. You and your family are today in my thoughts and prayers. Carole was truly an angel walking amongst the rest of us on earth.

Like everyone else I am truly shocked.  I haven't been on A/R of much lately either but Kathy emailed Sylvie about the tragic news  and Sylvie emailed me just now and I'm heart broken.  I was finally planninga a trip to NY this summer with my daughter and planning on calling Carole and saying that we would finally have that 'lunch' that we had talked about.  :-(  Life can be so fragile and fleeting - and we take for granted that some people will always be there...and then....I am so very very saddened - reading through all the comments - it is so obvious the impact she had on so many of us and how much she was loved. I am so very sorry for your loss and ours.

And this is why AR remains a concept I respect beyond belief.  The out-pour for your Mother, Laura, is astounding by this community.  While only somewhat familiar, I am and was familiar with Carol's heavy contribution to this community.  I'm guessing it pales in comparison to her contribution to your life ... and all those surrounded by her intimately.

My particular memory of Carol is when I came across her early on.  I didn't have a clue of what the heck "Feng Shui" even was.  Frankly, I thought it was Bruce Lee gone Real Estate.  I learned later that I couldn't be more wrong.

While my experience with your Mother was brief, I do believe that if there is a God (which I'm guessing there is) that God called your Mother for another undertaking.

Carol is about to, if she already hasn't, make the other side ... that much more beautiful.  A reflection of her soul, if you will.

Dear Laura and Adam,  I have been away from AR for a bit, and when I returned, I thought, "I haven't checked in with Carole" in a while...When I saw that the most current post was a tribute I felt instant sadness, as I know everyone who read your mothers posts, or ever communicated with her in any way felt, too, after reading it.  Her blogs encouraged me to take a few Feng Shui classes locally, and my instructor here, encouraged me to send your mom red money envelopes, (for which I received a very warm note) in appreciation of what I had already learned from her, prior to the classes.  We communicated privately a few times, and it breaks my heart that she is not in this world anymore.  Thank you for sharing your mom with us for these past few years, and for having inherited her gracious and loving nature to think of this community to share your sad news with, while dealing with such a loss. She was incredibly proud of both of you, (as I am sure you both know!), and my prayers are with you both as you navigate the coming days and months...Blessings for you both.

May you all find the support and comfort you need during this very sad time.   Take care, Gloria

I was/am totally shocked when I heard the news. Carole has taught me and many others so much. She was so loved here in the Rain. I had the pleasure to speak with her a few times and her positive energy was always contagious. She will be greatly missed by many. I loved and adored her and I will miss her beyond words.

My heart goes out to you both. I am so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed your mom's posts. Like Craig, she was my link back to Long Island where I grew up.  She will be missed very much.

Laura, thank you for sharing this. I am shocked, heart broken and saddened. Your mom brought so much love and light not only to me on a regular basis but obviously to so many around her. I have not been on AR like I use to be and she was one of my very first friends. She always took a moment to comment and to say a kind word. She had such a beautiful, amazing and helpful spirit.

I am so sorry for the loss to your family. I lost my mom too way earlier than I should have and I personally share in your grief . Thinking of you at this difficult time.

Hello Laura - you and I emailed many months back when your mom was in the hospital for resp. problems.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family on your loss. may God give you strength in this your time of need.  Your Mom lives on in the many lives she touched and the many people she served while a brief citizen on this planet.

Someonw gave me this saying wehn my Mom passed away and I'd like to share it with you.

Our lives are like a tapestry, sometimes all we see are knots on the underside of the tapestry while we live here on earth.

it is only when we get to heaven - that we can see the beauty of the tapestry God has woven with our lives.

It takes faith in God to live with the knots down here!

Sorry for the delay in responding - I was out of state for awhile caring for an elderly  family member who had major surgery and helping her acclimate & get back to her home. Jo sent me an email on AR which I did not logon to till today.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless you

Grace

Laura and Adam,

My heart is so heavy after hearing of this news. Please know my thoughts and wishes are with you and your family.

Your Mom was an AMAZING voice for home staging and Feng Shui.

Before I read your Mom's words I thought Feng Shui was a bunch of baloney. But I have to admit she inspired me to learn more and incorporate Feng Shui principles into my home staging.

I am a better home stager because of your mother, a woman I never met, but knew was amazing.

My best to you as you carry your Mom's "voice" forward thru your own words.

Craig

Hi Laura & Adam,

Your mom was a WONDERFUL person and very spiritual with her Feng Shui!!!  As a ex-New Yorker (born in Manhattan and raised in Bethpage, Long Island) I connected with her writing and her passion for what she loved to teach the rest of us ActiveRain members... I really admire the fact that you will keep blogging her writing and teachings to us!!!  Your mother taught you well!!!  Good luck in your future...  ;>)))

Thank you to her friends and the entire ActiveRain community!! :)

Laura,

I am so shocked and unbelievably saddened by this news. I had no idea.  Your mom was such a wonderful woman who I am proud to have had as a friend.  My heart is broken for you, Adam and your grandmother.  Carole loved you all so much.  Laura, she was so proud you and your brother.  She would often speak of Adam's carpentry talents and you as an artist and following in her passion for FengShui.  I am truly so very sorry for your loss.

Sending much love and prayers to you and your family....Lisa

I've been away from AR dealing with my husband's terminal illness.  I'm so sorry to hear about your mom.  I enjoyed her posts tremendously and felt I knew her although I've never met her.  She was a wonderful person and I know you will miss her terribly.  I'm so sorry.  My heart goes out to you.

Laura, I haven't been on AR in the past 6 weeks as much as I would have liked to, as work got out of control crazy around here. But, I have recently checked back in and I was absolutely shocked when I heard the news about Carole!  I couldn't believe it!  I loved reading her blog - there wasn't a day that I didn't learn something completely new about Feng Shui.  I found her blog fascinating.  Your mother was an incredible woman and she will be missed dearly.  God bless you and your family.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
