Time to Protest Property Taxes Again!
Collin County Deadline is June 1st 2010.

I'm sure many of you have received your tax bill estimates in the mail over the last couple of weeks. I did!
If you believe your assessed value of your real estate is too high, now is the time to protest. On the back of your appraised value there is a Notice of Protest. Once this Notice of Protest is completely filled out, you will need to request an informal review. There are three ways to request:
•1. In Person - 250 W. Eldorado Pkwy, McKinney Tx
(Wait times typical 45 minutes but review usually finalized at meeting.)
•2. By Phone - 469.742.9200 or 866.467.1100
•3. Mail - 250 W. Eldorado Pkwy, McKinney Tx 75069
After the request is received an Appraisal District staff member will create an informal inquiry record from the information you provided. Again in person reviews are usually finalized at meeting, unless additional information is needed. Telephone and mail request will be answered in approximately 15 business day.
You will need to provide information during your informal review. Please provide contracts, comparable sales data, appraisals, loan documents, repair estimates, photographs and any other information. After the informal review the Appraiser will choose one of two actions:
•1. Change the appraised value
•2. Make no change
After the receiving the Appraisers action you can choose one of two actions also:
•1. Agree with the change the Appraiser made/not made
•2. File a written protest for a formal hearing the Appraisal Review Board
