Folks living in the Greater Sacramento area, often use Memorial Day weekend, as the benchmark, for putting on their sandals, and kick-starting summer. Because this has been an unusual year - weather wise, I know my family is looking forward to this event, which is just a few days away.
Sacramento is fortunate enough to have so many valuable recreational resources at its back door - especially along the American River.
The paved American River Bike Trail is an amazing 33-mile ride, which hugs the river from Old Sacramento to Folsom Lake. Although much of The American River Parkway enchants with stunning nature areas and river scenes, the reality is one is never far from civilization.
American River Raft Rentals, is one of a handful of rental businesses, adjacent to the American River Parkway, making it ground zero for most any kind of recreation you could think of - biking, canoeing, rafting, fishing and hiking. It is located near the Sunrise Bridge, and the American River in Gold River.
