♫Why, you ask, would I want to work with people moving to Kansas City? They are some of my favorite people to work with - especially military or corporate transfers. Here's why:
They know that they need to move on a certain date which gives us a very clear time-line.
When we talk about their needs, it is usually very easy for them to define what is important in their lives. It might be XX minutes from their office. Sometimes it is within a particular school district. Sometimes they must reside either in Kansas or Missouri (Kansas City straddles the two states).
It is easy for them to articulate what is important in their lives by just walking me through an average week in their current location. They may tell me they hit the gym every morning after dropping the children at school - that means I need to find them a place between the office, the school, and the gym. They may tell me they walk their dog every evening when they get home - they'll need a walkable neighborhood.
One family's daughter had always wanted to ride her bike to school but lived in a place that was too far to safely do that. The house I found for them was less than 2 blocks from the elementary school. One couple wanted to be able to ride the bus downtown to work and walk to the grocery store so they were pleased with the house in Brookside 1 block from the bus stop and a short walk to the Brookside Market. 
The motorcycle enthusiast who wanted a huge garage close to the highway was happy with the house in Overland Park just off Metcalf. The gardener who needed to be within walking distance of St. Teresa's was thrilled with the house by Loose Park that had established perennials and raised beds in the back yard.
It is so gratifying to help people find just the right house for their needs. I cannot think of a more rewarding job than helping people find the house that suits their lifestyle.
The other part I enjoy about helping people relocate to Kansas City is showing them around our wonderful city. Oh, and stopping for lunch so they can discover which restaurants will become their favorites.
