Used as a guest cottage, mother-in-law residence or even a home office - a casita is a well liked feature in Mesquite and found in homes in several gated golfcourse subdivisions including Lakeridge golfcourse community. Sometimes detached from the home and across a courtyard from the main home with a separate entrance, a casita allows guests to have privacy and come and go without disturbing the occupants of the main home.
Some subdivisions like Sun City Mesquite and Vista Del Monte also offer floor plans with a choice of a casita or a 3rd car garage.
