A fringe benefit of inspecting houses is all the cool stuff I get to see. For example this old house built in 1884. I think it still looks stately and grand looking over the main street where it was built 126 years ago. The house must have belonged to someone wealthy. It is fairly large with many high end features which are still in place today. Let me show you some of the fine accoutrements of this home.
First is some of the exceptional architectural detail on the exterior. These filigree type ornamental touches on the gables are really quite magnificent. The time and workmanship it would have taken to make these is a testament to the craftsman who built them.
The prominent tower at the front of the home is a design element from years gone by. Every spire like a Christmas tree needs a finishing touch on top. This tower is no exception. Once again craftsmanship from a by gone era that's awe in-spire-ing.
Moving to the inside you would not expect something as mundane as a door hinge to be decorative, but not only is this antique hinge beautiful it matches the exterior design.
As I said earlier this home was undoubtedly built for a prominent and well to do person back in the day.
Lastly is the marble fire place in the living room. This is simply an amazing piece of the home. Not to sound like a broken record, but craftsmanship here is to be admired.
