8 Weeks to a Better Blog and Social Media Strategy

Week 5

Day 3

Action Plan:

Are you in need of more comments on your blog?

Ask a question. Not what do you think? But, something that will prompt your readers to respond and give their opinion. If you follow Mashable, they always end every post with a question.

When you ask questions, you are trying to engage your readers to comment. If you write an opinion post, make sure you give your opinion. Then invite your readers to agree or disagree.

Make sure you include a good title and target your location.

You can link to your post in the comments below.

Thanks,

Missy, I always go back and check my results to see how many clicks and views each of my posts receive. It amazes me that many times I am do not expect a post to garner much attention and it gets lots of attention. I do consciously try to get people to respond to certain posts. Great post Missy, this has been a fun series to keep up with

Great stuff in all this! Try to ask an open-ended question though - who, what, where, when, why & how.

I read one blog which always ends with 'are you having a good day?' which is kind of annoying to me. But I also read some others that always end with questions like 'what do you think about <fill in the blank with some opinion I've spouted>?' and I've noticed that many of those get lots of interesting comments.

Moral of the story: good strategy as long as you are asking relevant questions.

Not something I had given a lot of thought to previously.

I forget how powerful this is......my experience supports this and I really should ask more questions.  Ha!  I think I'll try that!

Have a great day!
